| Anyone else own a 1/8 rc super crawler?
Hi guys. I just ordered a redcat rockslide super crawler 1/8 scale. Just wondering if anyone else on this forum has one or similar and how do you like it compared to crawlers of smaller scale. I haven't received mine yet and wanted a heads up or tips on the best way to operate it. Thanks. Mike L. |

not bad trucks. i did a twin mamba max ecs,s and a pair of 5700KV motors. axles are decent but will stall sometimes. better steering servos are a must the other one i had i had the Novak M2 unit in it with a 4 channel radio so i still had 4ws. |

After you are done changing servos, New motors to eliminate stall, updating electronics, replacing gears, diff pins and or axles, installing some good shocks and finding tires that work well outside of your carpeted living room.... You'll have yourself a pretty usable crawler that won't be broken all the time and you can have endless hours of enjoyment with It is surely a good step up from a Wal-Mart boxed piece of useless plastic. It will be a great entry level RC to test out the hobby and get your feet wet and decide if you then want to dive in head first Or you could either wait 30 days and 30 productive posts to the forum and access the classifieds section and better spend $200 toward something with berg axles or similar. Or spend $20 to donate to the forum and have instant access to the classifieds. At that point... If you really have your heart set on a 1:8 Rockslide.... You might happen across one that has already been modified and updated for possibly less then a brand new one. Can you cancel your order? |
