VERY nice. I like it. Never thought of using thin lexan for body panels. You even have to form them or do they just lay down onto the molds with heat? Those tires are perfect for 1/4 scale aren't they. If you fill the AX10 trany with steel I think it will hold up. Now the 7t puller on the other hand. It may get a little hot on you. My 10t gets hot in my 9lb Super. If John has and 14 or 16 turn armatures I think that would be more better. Keep it up. Now I HAVE to get mine finished.

I imagine that if I used higher heat the panels would "melt" over the mold, but the temp I use gives them the consistency of half cooked lasagna noodles which makes them very easy to form by hand, but not soft enough to leave fingerprints. With the 7t puller (could be one of the 10t's w/ 7t sticker...) I was thinking I'd need the 2:1gru. But you might be onto something with the higher turn arm. I think I'll get it half way running with the 7 and contact JRH if need be.

Keeping an eye on this too. Looks like it might be a great option paired up with a Mamba Max Pro.

I havent been making much progress on this thanks to being very distracted by my other build, a 1.55 VW bus. Here's the steering tie-rod for the 1:4 CJ, I had to bend the ends to clear the Xfactor diffs at full lock. Its longer than the wheelbase of the vw...

Scored a 7980 out of the FS section! This thing is badass, and I havent even plugged it up yet. Yes, it is over 600oz of torque, but I'm still worried it might not be enough in a 20 pound truck with 8"+ tires. Also picked up a 1" Hangar-9 servo arm.

If the 7980 is too weak I might have to try one of these. I think I have enough room for it, but I'm not crazy about the exposed gears. 1500 oz...

Bought some aluminum piano hinge for the hood from McMaster-Carr. It's scary how easy it is to spend money with them, and next day shipping doesnt help.

and Finally, I got the grill mounted on the grill hoop. Also got a picture with a 1/6 scale Willys (Thanks BigSki, I hope mine turns out half as nice as yours. ) -Brian

Yup, the 7980 will mount inside the drivers side frame rail, just like a steering box on a 1:1.

Brian, yours is already nicer than mine, all I built was a roll cage and a front bumper, you are fabricating 80% of your jeep!

I'm thinking a 4-stroke would sling some dirt with those huge tires. looks good I just finished a 1/8 scale flatfender myself.

Yea - the 7980TH is the Master Servo of Torque! I am seriously considering one for my TXT-1 Crawler build
