AGREE! Although I've never tried 14T, this motor should allows a much Cooler Run compared to a 7T. In any case, watch the Motor/ESC Temp.

Atleast thats my dream.
that got my gears turning

right right. didnt really recognize it without the moabs. if i ever make it to oregon we can have a battle of the large scale beasts. lol. doubt i ever will though. looks good and your making way more progress than i. i put my motor/trans up from and am looking for a transfer case now. trying to find an old trans or something to use, cheap though. thought about a axial trans but afraid itll gear it too low. hows your set up? run strong?

It has taken on quite a different look, I was going to keep the flares on the body and what not but then I realized I just had to have the rock loxs. I actually just had my first test run, the steering and drivetrain is great. I am going to use a puller 14T motor, but for the test I used a 35T motor. The summit trans and lower gear set in the mad force axles gave it a pretty good crawl speed even on 2s. It is a blast driving something this big around though. I would use a stampede transmission for a transfer case before I used a axial for strength.

Sounds good. I'm plannin on runnin a homles esc and 14t puller as well, possibly 2 and on 5s. It's all up in the air right now but pretty sure thats what I'm aiming for. I actually have a pede trans and went to cut it up the other night ago but couldn't bring myself to do it considering it was my first rc that me and the old man built. Sounds dumb I know but it was the start to this hobby/obsession/sickness... You going to post some video of some 1st and 2nd gear runs?

Yeah I will post some vids as soon as I get my electronics from HH, I can tell you after driving mine on 2s and a 35T motor 5s will not be needed. I'm pretty sure that 3s and the 14T is going to be gnarly.

That's good to hear. Means alittle less dough I have to hand out. I look foward to seeing it run. You running a holmes esc too? What servo do you have turning?

I will be once it arrives, I am running two Hitec HS-7954SH servos at 7.4V off the BEC. Even off the RX they seem to do a pretty good job of turning those big meats.

Just thought I'd post up a much delayed update. Delayed due to just really getting going on it. Also, the ruler is an 18 inch ruler, NOT 12. Around a 22-23 inch wheel base.

itll be finished, eventually. the hold up was getting axles. the ones that were wide enough you cant find anomore or are 250 each. emaxx axles you have to make, which i started on then get side tracked multiple times. then finally got an idea and ran with it. trial and error. so far so good. next step is to lengthen the rear uppers and make my trans mount, and find a GCM T-Case.

Nice, yeah the transfer case has been an issue with my build too I have a couple but I'm still trying to make it as real as posible. how does the single motor set up run? I didnt think one motor would be enough to power a beast of thid size?

Personally I have not powered mine yet. I have electronics to test it with when the time comes. I will be going with a Holmes motor for sure and unclear on the esc for now. I have a emaxx two speed I plan to run with either the gcm or possibly a transmission for he tcase. I've thought about going summit two speed. Are the summit trans' smaller than a maxx?

Cant say for sure but they look to be about the same size.

I'm running the older style 3906 E maxx trans locked in first gear, I like that model because the motors are centered I think it will help to keep the weight distribution more even. powered by twin HH 7t pullers and a mamba monster on 4s.

Might be overkill but I'd rather have a little extra throttle than not enough

my build is the 1:6th F250 project working class..or the flying brick as I like to call it
