Default Escalade

Picked this up from Warpig. Mocked up with axial axles but I am pretty sure I will be putting a set of old clod axles under it for the width.

Size comparison to the C3 rig

Going to be a tow rig for a large scale boat I have.

I was looking at an old CRT.5 I have with a rcbros elect conversion. The track width is spot on. I t would be pretty easy to extend the chassis and drivelines. I may go that route. I could also add a wheely king axle to the rear, the ratios are close enough I believe.

Decided to use a older rig I dont run any more. It is/was a CRT.5 with a RCBros electric conversion and pillow ball front end.
First step, cut a perfectly good running car in half. I may have to file for a recovery tittle after this.

Then I cut up an old sign I salvaged from work

Added a few L shapped supports

The extended chassis also doubles as the body mount using velcro attached to the underside of the running boards. What you see is the second attemt and it works way better then the first jungle jim of brackets I dreamed up.
I also had to make a 10" driveline for the rear.(forgot to take a pic)

Fast forward thru the electronc placement ( traxxas water proof esc and a Titan motor........

This is ride hieght with the CRT shocks, tire clear lock to lock but will rub when articulated. Doesnt leave much ground clearance either.

Shocks at full extention. I think I will find some different springs and go with this ride hieght. It needs to be able to tow the boat with out dragging the bumper.

Plan on hooking up all the lights and maybe add a horn also

Looks awesome Devlin! The second ride height with the shocks extended looks spot on. Can't wait to see this rig driving...its going to be a beast!

Thanks guys, I am sure the wraith axles would work fine with the right offset wheels.

Its a runner as of tonight, I swapped the shocks out for some surplus ones I had laying around. Needs a different motor and some playing with the gearing. The titan is to fast,I think a HH handwound 55 turn will go in it next.

Its kinda fun driving it with the diffs and tranny open, way differnt than my other scalers. Acts a lot lot a 1:1 with traction control

To many projects to little time..... I have realized the gearing is way off for any type of towing. So, I have an idea of ripping apart a old drill motor and using its gear ruduction unit.

I may get to it this week as I am on vacation. First priority is getting the Gayler and Vuck pointed out....then finish a buddies boat for him....

We will see, this project was just a time killer and is not a priority. Besides that, the wife isnt going for the fact i bought her an Escalade and I am sure I will get stuck going car shopping for her this week.
