Thinking about building a 1/6 F150 After looking at some of the amazing rigs on here I have been inspired to start my first large scale rig myself. Also I have recently started my first scale truck with my CC01 and I think I have really been bitten by the crawler bug. Forgive me for a bunch of newbie qustions on this. I am using a newbright 1/6 scale Lightning body and trying my hand at a scratch built chassis So on with the questions. What would be good axles for this build? I want a scale trail rig for this build What would be a good center gearbox for a truck this big? Can I use an Emaxx gearbox? Actually at the moment I have less questions then I thought. I think this is going to be an awesome truck. |

Re: Thinking about building a 1/6 F150 My first build was a Nikko Hilux CC01, I would complete your CC01 build first with a 1/10 body. Then, apply your new skills and knowledge to the 1/6 build. I been thinking about 1/6 Ford also, using the wraith axles will be the way to go. |
Re: Thinking about building a 1/6 F150 Yeah your probably right finish the CC01 "Black Dog" first then move on to the large scale rig. |
Re: Thinking about building a 1/6 F150 Ok been a while but I think I have found a chassis with drive train for my large scale f150. I have a Tamiya TXT-1 on its way..its missing wheels/tires, electronics, motor plate, and one suspention link. But all the rest of the major components are there plus extras like spare axels. My only question is has anyone built a large scaler out of a TXT-1? I have already compared the wheel base specs and I need to stretch the wheel base 2 inches. I'm thinking new links and revo shafts. |
Re: Thinking about building a 1/6 F150 all my large scale are txt... http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/s...t/SAM_6142.jpg http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/s...t/fing_9-1.jpg http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/s...ot/fing_21.jpg http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/s...t/SAM_5782.jpg http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/s...t/SAM_5787.jpg http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/s...22011232-1.jpg |
