Oh hell no Norm. Right now til the end of the month I am on hold with it, work is killer and no spare time. THIS WILL NOT DIE. I have the body and rear axle to order which will get done in the next couple weeks and should be ready to rock on it again by mid August. I will be contacting you for a possible set of custom seats too !!

Seems like a shame most will go unused.........for now  ![]() Body cut begins. Before ![]() After ![]() Motor mock-up. yup...gonna need new headers.... ![]() Start of interior. ![]() ![]() Added "welds" to the added plates. ![]() Well, sorry nit really much but that is all for now. More to come :nice: |

looks great Darin, how do you make the welds? is it plastic glued into the seams and then attack it with a soldering iron?

Thanks. the welds are made using epoxy putty, roll into a small strand, push into crease and then I use a small scrap piece of tubing to make the weld marks.

Glad to see you get the body, how much do you need to narrow the frame rails?

Thanks ZoSo, hope it turns out well. Big, I actually need to widen the rails I have made up. After getting the body in hand the front grill is wider then I first thought. If you look at the 1:1 pics you can see how it sits between them. I am hoping I can use what I have and just modify them over starting over, we'll see how it goes.

Update time. Spent some quality time in the cave this weekend. Here are the results. Seats mocked up. Custom mounts to get them low enough. ![]() ![]() Chassis has been cut and widened. ![]() Steering servo mounted behind dash, not sure how well or IF it will work but wanted it like the 1:1 ![]() ![]() ![]() Cover made to hide it. ![]() Radiator made. ![]() ![]() Cut and shortened wind shield, had to add some color too. ![]() ![]() More to do, more to come.

I want to say UN F*******BELIEVABLE!, but I dont think I can say Freaking on RCC, lol WOW, I did not know your plan was to build a rat rod. Not I so want one of the 1/6 dealeos. I think I am getting there with the FOJV, just a bit larger than 1/10th Anyways, excellent job. Cant wait to see it finished. BTW, you should see if you can get that servo arm machined to look the same. You basically need an RC4WD Heim Joint end with a servo end on the other side somehow machined out Maybe I can talk to Tim (War Pig) and see if he can do ya a solid if he has time.

Thanks Norm....yup plan was rat rod all the time. I do need to work on the servo arm for sure. I have a couple ideas to try out and think with a little alum welding I can get it done. We'll see though, if not I'll hit you and/or Tim up for ideas. I need to find a sponsor.....cash on this thing is killing me

It's looking really good, the interior styrene work is turning out well. The grille layout looks good. I still can't get an answer on the ones I was working on. Any choices for tires yet?
