Nice the dragon body seems alot easier to mount that r3 into with out doing a bunch of styrene work for a new dog house. I modded my r3 so I could mount it under my hood with the transmission ill start a build thread soon on it . Looking great by the way those axles are pretty killer

time is ticking... it still needs battery/tool box and esc/fuel cell... and some links made, a servo mount and a panhard bar for the 3 link in the front... and some wiring and a bec... so much to do and so little time atm...

D60 never came stock on Jeeps so if you find one under a Jeep, chances are you won't find the stock motor either. Most common swap is a Chevy small block so that will need a passenger side drop assuming all Chevy drivetrain. If you see a driver's side drop D60 you will likely find a Ford motor under the hood.

So if you're going for the comp look, are you running a Chevy or Ford motor under the hood?

BTW I have a NIB Dragon Willys so I'm keeping an eye on your build. I hope you can get back to it soon.

neither... i have a hemi im gonna stuff into the hood ... probably just gonna use the top of the motor and the oil pan on the bottom with a box of electronics in between... i will be continuing this build next month...

on a side note the fj is almost ready for the NWSC

Ah see though, Dodge hasn't had a decent D60 in decades. The ones on their 94+ 1 tons are wierd 32 spline stuff with built-in fuses (narrow part so it snaps there) Avoid 90-91 too.

Your axle looks passenger drop low-pinion which is standard Chevy hardware. Looks like you have a passenger drop Atlas t-case mounted to that Hemi.

Dude your build is really amazing...

Im still bugging out at the surgery you performed on the driver.

I cant wait to see finished rig.

The music is going to be sweet but not as cool as the pilot barking out orders.

i been slow as hell on this build... life keeps getting in the way

i did finish up the sub box tho... it has 2 mini amps inside ... its WAY louder than just the mp3 player powering some small speakers...

heres a link to what i tore apart to make it happen
Black Mini Hamburger Portable 3 5mm Audio Speaker for iPhone PC MP3 Player New | eBay

it has usb charging plugs to charge 2 tiny lipo's that amplify the speakers... i made a custom switch for the front that operates both the power switches at the same time...

also some custom plates for the build

i have someone designing a custom functional steering wheel and i will definately post pics of it when i get it...

they are ridiculously awesome ... i love how they're reflective and also how scale the screws look for 1:6... they are definately helping me push the scale awesomeness over the top on this build

on a side note... speaker box fully assembled is 115 grams... the weight on this thing is adding up really quick... its gonna be a pig for sure... i hope i dont have to put it on a diet
