Take a look at all the threads on the large scale trucks, you'll get an idea of which is used a lot |
Re: 1/6th scale newbright TJ, HELP MEEE supershafty.com He has some great axles for large scale builds. The TJ body with the flares is wider then the Willys you see on here. For transmissions just about any of the well known will work depending on room. |

i was kinda thinkin twin force axles, would they work with a tiny lil ax10 transmission? lol |
Re: 1/6th scale newbright TJ, HELP MEEE Yes that will work. Are you going to run a Tcase like the restof us.? Wraith axles are good also. |

wraith axles seem too narrow. what would the transfer case be, just a ax10 trans converted into one? any links on how to convert an ax10 trans into a transfre case? idid try searching =x edit: i just set my wraith axles next to the body, its just about the perfect width. its perfect for a modest stock look. with some large 2.2's it will look real nice. now i just gotta find a chassis for a 16 inch wheelbase lol |
Re: 1/6th scale newbright TJ, HELP MEEE i use txt1 diffs in all my 6th scale and built a 2 speed cordless drill motor and custom made transfer for my cherokee waiting for it to break still http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/s...8052012601.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img571/3103/fing94.jpg |
Re: 1/6th scale newbright TJ, HELP MEEE You'll need to fab your own chassis, best way to do it. Read up on some builds for ideas on how this is done. Good to know the Wrath axles will work too. |
Re: 1/6th scale newbright TJ, HELP MEEE I bought an exceed mad torque that I will be putting under my 1/6 TJ. Its not quite as scale and is MOA. I am using angle aluminum for the chassis as that is basically all I have here in Okinawa that is easy to work with. Once all is said and done it will look a little bigger than stock. Oh and the exceed has a 16 inch wheel base, and the tires stick out maybe an 1/8 or 1/4 inch past flares. Just an idea. And I will be replacing all electronics and motors with higher quality ones. |
Re: 1/6th scale newbright TJ, HELP MEEE I like to heat and bend 1/2" square tubing. Drill it for mounts. After that cut it in half and you have two rails that are the same. |
Re: 1/6th scale newbright TJ, HELP MEEE Oh yeah. GCM makes the best Tcase IMOA |
