Went to Sams Club today to pick up a few things and came home with a brandy new F-150 New Bright, I dont even want to say what I got it for but trust me it was cheap. pretty sweet IMHO.... no interior, guessing about 1/6 scale, got it home and pulled the body off after driving it around the livingroom once. Also took off the roll bar, tool box and bed rails, the side mirrors fold like the 1:1s ! Its not the Raptor version, it has kind of a funky bed on it but its pretty detailed and just begging to be put to use. Hoping the images I posted will come up, my 'puter is having a fit.....more later |

I have that body myself, but with full interior, regular paint job.

2 hours to get all those stickers off, sanded down all the mold lines and most of the sags, 2 bad ones on the hood over the mounting posts, filler laid and sanded. now for the rest of the build.......I have a motor I pulled from a 18v cordless screw gun that is a twin to the 775 Titan that came out of my Summit, pretty sure that paired with a Summit trans will motivate this thing pretty well, Wraith axle in the rear and a Exo front section if I can find one, if not then Wraith front axle as well. Just went to the hardware store and nabbed a lenght of 1/2'' 16 ga square tube, a length of 3/16'' and 5/32"' solid rod for my basic frame and bumper needs, going to start bending the rails tonight and getting the frame laid out. Probly wont be much progress after that untill I can scrape up some $$$ for parts. |

well I didnt pay $55 for it and I also got the black hummer too but that one is going in the for sale section soon. got the frame rails bent up last night, still need to split the 'rail' into 2 sides, dont really have any material to build a center skid yet but Ive been eyeballing one of the wifes cutting boards...... on another note Ive been looking over the Wraith for parts too, the whole skid would bolt right up to the rails I built then Id just have to extend the links to fit the wheelbase and build some shock towers and longer driveshafts, I dont know....this is my first large scale build so Im figgureing things out on the fly, any advice or suggestions would be helpful!!! |

Im always on the look out for stuff I can use for my RC addiction and happened to notice the 2 trucks I picked up while Christmas shopping but the were priced really high, like $80 or something stupid like that and passed on them then, I'll spill the beans and say I paid less than $25 each, thats one hellofa mark down so I nabbed them, got the last 2 they had on the floor. Just lucky I guess. Id really like to post pics of my progress but my ISP is really letting me down the last couple of days and I can barely get this site to load...........
