What do you think of the Rc4wd Blackwell axles? I'm interested in what this thing looks like.

Thankks guys.....I like the Blackwells so far, the R2 Trans looks beefy too. I think Im gonna go with the Punisher steel shafts too so it will be strong...

Here are a few more teasers lol

Geez, this guy is good. Those ARE teaser shots! :x

I've wanted to use a pair of Blackwells for a build for many years now. They're still too bloody expensive..

Re: Something Brewing...

Looking at Power systems too...kinda new to the scale scene and this truck, although it is an MT, wont be built for speed. I was wonder wat are sum good "scaler" brushed and brushless systems out there. Truck has sum weight on it so Im not sure if I should be looking at 27t or 55t range. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think im gonna go with the steel punisher shafts, a bit pricey but worth it for this build. I also think Im gonna need a wider widener (sounds funny lol)...The truck is actually quite big but with the size of the clod tires it should even out and still look really scale, but I need to widen it out maybe 1/2" maybe....

You can always talk to john rob from holms hobbies. He makes awesome motors and is very help full when you need a hand picking one. Have you looked at the new scale punisher shafts from rc4wd they look pretty stout and really scale.

Re: Something Brewing...

I'd stay away from 55t. The last scaler I built I went with a 45t with a R2 tranny and it was S L O W. If you go brushed 27t would be better. Maybe someone else has experience with 35t motors who could share.

Kingclod27 01-29-2013 09:46 AM

Re: Something Brewing...

I was thinking 55t would be to slow...35t doesnt sound too bad but someone else to me 27t would be good too..

I have seen the new punisher shafts too, I made up my mind on those..I found some more scale parts from Axial I can use too..I just need to make a DP floor and dash..I need better pics of Skinny AK so I can see where the fuel tank was...Dennis Tafts site is down lol

adamargue 01-29-2013 10:25 AM

The r2 is geared super low so i would recommend something like 21t or a 27t on 3s that would give u decent wheel speed and torque.

Re: Something Brewing...

Thanks adamargue....Ill go with the Axial 27t or 21t brushed motor and ESC...unless there is a good brushless system out there? any recommendations?

Found sum scale parts to use too..gonna use the Wraith interior gauges, steering wheel, Seat and shifter....I already have the MM motor and Im gonna paint the block red or orange to give it sum flavor lol...I need to find something to serve as the Tanks in the front and back tho...

A couple days ago when I mentioned the semi tank I briefly thought about the CO2 cartridge but you have to remember the one end has a fitting on it.
