It looks awsome, What leaf spring are you using? Will the spring support the weight of that big body and all the electronics?

When i hooked up with my old lady she pointed and laughed.

The leafs are homemade from a lawnmower retrun spring. I was going to use the stuff I found at harbor frieght but they didn't have a 1/4" wide available. The pics shows it supporting the body with no problem and the electronics really won't weight that much, except the battery but that's not to bad. I'll weigh it at lunch with just the frame, axles and wheels. It really isn't to heavy at this point. Once I add the shocks it will support just about anything.

I wanted to use really long shocks but it lifted it way to high so I'm going with the Tmaxx shocks I have.

I'll get the cage tacked on at lunch and snap a pic or two.

Well, now I've seen everything. Leafs on a Clod!

I like it with the CXT body. If you're gonna be huge, be huge. Looks scale enough to me, but you should put a stepladder on the thing so the driver can get in

Thanks goat..

Here is what I did at lunch yesterday. It's a quick cage nothing fancy and I didn't even fish mount the corners (cause of time) like I would do for customers. So it only took a total of 15minutes.

The truck may look like it's slanting, but it's cause the shackles move and I don't have the shocks on yet.

At lunch I'll mount the bed and set up the shocks. Maybe get a couple of flex shots.

Its meets the "rules"

In all seriousness, its a very cool rig. Probably one of the most scale clod based rigs around.

Keep up the work

Thanks guys I'm hoping to get it to the powder coaters today and paint the truck this weekend.

Now should I go with my first thought of black with gray flames. OR
I'm just thinking of painting it white nothing fancy maybe a line or something to add to it OR practice my true fire on it?

I don't want to go red or grey cause that is what I usually see on them.

A freakin' leaf sprung Clod...never thought I'd see the day.

Wow.

When I saw the axle pics I was like "Hey, those look like leaf perches..."

Looks good.

Thanks JIA..

Ray - Actually those are my shocks. XJ sent them to me
I have your stuff in the box near my table and all the VS chassis' and builds in another area. I don't want ot mix up anyones stuff so I keep everything in boxes or sections. My wife wants her table back though. I need to finish cleaning the garage so my family can eat at the dinner table.

I'm debating on what type of shocks to put on it. I have some really long shocks (savage? or something, can't think of what they are off of at the moment) and can make hoops for em or just go with the maxx or evader rear shocks?

Thanks for the comments guys. I'm glad I was able to put something together for my self finally, only took 9 months.

I don't think I've eaten lunch in over a month, or at least sat down and ate one.

Anyone have any commints about the paint or shocks, as I'm getting ready to mock them up tonight or around 1am or so
