| Marx Toys Jeep
I have off and on been looking for a replacement body for my Barbie Jeep and I just happened across this thing at an antique shop this past Saturday. I almost past on it but my wife told me to get it Its extremely likely this will get its own build rather than end up as a replacement tub for my other Jeep. Im thinkin maybe an SCX10 frame , AX10 axles , and 1.9s Here are some dimensions in case ya wanna know. From the front bumper to the rear bumper - 20.75 Body width at the top of the tub - 8.562ish Body width at the bottom of the rockers - 8.875ish Bottom of the grill to the top of the hood - 3.5 Wheelbase - 12.375 Tires - 4.375 Last edited by FRIZZLEFRY; 07-09-2013 at 05:28 PM. |

| Re: Marx Toys Jeep The Hasbro flares out after the dash. The sides of the Marx are straight . With no front fenders, from the front of the hood to the dash is roughly 7.875 wide. The widest point I have left where it flares out after the dash is 9.625ish . From the end of the hood to where whats left of the body at the rear is is 18.5 . I don't remember what the exact wheelbase was. The Marx Jeep from the end of the hood to to the rear of the tub not counting the bumpers is about 18" . |

Im going to! I told the monkey that I wanted to take the drivetrain out of her Ridgecrest to build the Jeep but she said no. She said she wants both ha ha. I have enough SCX10 stuff right now to make it a roller |

| Re: Marx Toys Jeep Since my new shop is so full at the moment that i cant play with Bertha, i have started cutting on it. New SCX10 frame, old AX10 axles, wraith tranny, Tekin 17.5, MMP, Axial 1.9 beadlocks w/ Trepadors, and runnin 3s. I will try to drive this one a little slower down the path of destruction |

Oh come on now, you know that ain't true! That Marx Jeep should last a little longer though, it looks like it's made from a softer plastic than the original Hasbro Jeeps. On my build, I keep worrying that it'll end up like yours because the plastic is old and brittle, lol

The durometer of the Marx plastic is softer. The reason my Barbie Jeep is the way it is is because i drive it like a comp buggy and drunken jackass once in a while Im positive this one will end up all cut up on Wraith axles and big 2.2s. For some reason i want to start out with a stockish size Jeep and let nature take its course. Its really tempting to skip to the middle part of the evolution process and go right to the Wraith axles and 2.2s since im gutting my Wraith to make this thing go. |

I would stretch those Trepadors over some 2.2 wheels. If you can find some that don't widen the track. Those 1.9 wheels just look too small. Tyre size is spot on. Other than that looks great. Try to hold back on those wraith axles and make a stock looking rig. Far too few of those around. |

The 1.9 wheels do look small, but they are what i have. I dont know how long this will stay stock looking. Just have to see if I like wheeling with small tires. With the Barbie Jeep I did lots of chopping. Im taking my time on this one and cutting out little bit at a time until stuff fits. Was able to run an MIP shaft in the rear and cut down a Wild Boar shaft for the front. Im thinking about running a dig to unlock the front and have 2wd. That might be kinda cool |

Very cool find. Those 1.9 wheels and tires look perfect on that body. Nice clean and precise cuts you are doing on the body as well.

I cut the bumpers off the back. And then cut the bottom of the body behind the rear wheel openings off up to where the tops of the bumpers were. And to gain a little width i threw on some Traxxas wide hexes. They are only .070" wider than the Axial ones, so only a little over an 1/8" in width is gained overall. I drove it for the first time today. Works pretty well. The side steps have got to go. Major rock anchors ha ha No action poser pics yet. | |

Looks better with the wider hexes. |
