got a little bit of work done today. got the chassis rails worked out. and the motor and power plant mounted. got the body mounts on the chassis rails too.

also spent a while hacking this 427 apart, while trying not to make it look like its been hacked apart. think i did a good job. when you see all the stuff that had to come off it looks really good.

anyway. not much for words, so here are some pics of the progress.

with motor.

with motor and engine

and some more mock up shots.
not sure how the engine is gonna work with no fly wheel, oil filter, alternator, surpentine belt, lower main body...

its a center differential from a Ofna Ultra LX2e buggy. and a Flux Scream bushless motor from a savage flux.

output shafts for the center diff? standard for a 1/8 buggy.

Loving this build. Makes me want both the rc and full size. I need to get a build thread started for my project. Turning a Tonka pick up into a rc. with super short mad force axles.

so.... was talking to sellenK earlier. and he had an idea that Creepy Inc. also had. and well. just look.

free wheel front axle! got lots of fabricating left to do. but the goal is to make this and the driven front axle interchangeable. shouldn't be too hard

ok, so those first pics didnt really show much of the axle. so here you go. tomorrow i mount fab the ladder bar mounts and start thinking about how to make the ladder bars.

never brazed 3/8 round stock before. took a while to heat it with the MAPP torch, but once it got red it flowed real nice.

Actually, the 1/6 Ford 427 engine is a direct fit to the proline ratrod body. The ratrod's lexan exhaust manifolds line up exactly to the exhaust manifolds of the 1/6 Ford 427's.

got the front ladder bars "done." i want to get some of those 8/32 steel scale heim joints for them to mount to the chassis. i was able to make these out of some 5/16" rod. so they are pretty strong ;)

they line up directly with the supershafty.com twin force axle mounts, so i am well on the way to having axles that are easily swapped in the front.

some pics.
