| Neeley's 1/6 Ford F350 build
The idea behind this one is to create a simple 1/6 ladder frame chassis kind of based on a scaled up scx10. Got me some square steel tubing and low heat solder rods for brazing I'm going to use a ridgecrest for the trans, alxes, wheels and shocks. Links and driveshafts will come later as I haven't decided what to do there yet. The body is a new bright F350, bought from ebay, I really really wanted a raptor but couldn't find one. At least with this chassis I can keep a look out and should be able to easily mount it if one comes along. The F350 body will have a few mods which should make it look distinctive I'll probably have lots of questions along the way and would be grateful for your help. Not a lot done at the moment, I'm kinda still planning it out but here's the first few shots. Neil. Last edited by Neeley; 08-24-2014 at 07:28 AM. |

Update time..... The basic chassis is done, next is mounting the trans, setting up the wheelbase and making the 4 links. Last edited by Neeley; 08-24-2014 at 08:36 AM. |

The chassis has come out really good but,,,,,, it's way too heavy. :( I should have known really. Gonna make the same thing in aluminium. Also I'm not loving the body, A redcat rampage / Maverick blackout mt body is what I'm thinking now, this should lighten the build significantly. As it's a lexan body I'll have to add lots of detail for it to look any good. If I'm honest I'm totally undecided with a body been looking at them for a week now and not sure what to get. Can't find a raptor in the UK anywhere and it's pissing me off. |

bummer on the chassis, got a couple projects in the way before i start mine, heard your bench is clear tho robbo . just my .02 but i reckon stick with the new bright. rc re-cycler had some raptor bodies for sale but shipping will kill you to the uk. i feel your frustration getting parts here in oz is a PITA.

Have you ever seen/held a raptor body? There is no interior and the windows are blacked out plastic. Nothing special.

Sick build man. Love the scheme of your rig. Wish my chassis looked as sick as yours.
