got 90% of the bed done last night. i wish i had made it about 1/2" taller and a 1/2" longer. but it'll do. the washers are the rear shock and upper link mounts.

You should use TXT axles with wideners this time instead of those clod axles.

The tube work is amazing though.

bigtiresrbetter 11-15-2006 01:13 PM

wow lookin pretty sweet already! What tires are thinking of running?

SuperTwinz 11-15-2006 01:16 PM

Wow, impressive.

either 2.2 All-Ts narrowed to 2"
or 3.2 claw dawgs narrowed to 2"

MaXX_CrAWlER7 11-15-2006 02:48 PM

that rig is gonna be sick with that bad azz body

NickRummy 11-16-2006 08:01 AM

What is the wheel base on that body?

STANG KILLA SS 11-16-2006 09:21 AM

16.39"

Thanks, I ran to walmart today to scout out some of these trucks. I'm more interested in making a monster truck trail rig instead of a crawler. My walmart only had an H3 and a dodge ram. The ram was pretty sweet actually.

What version of AutoCAD is that? Any of it drawn in 3d?

STANG KILLA SS 11-16-2006 01:17 PM

ive got the new bright 1/6 jeep, avalanche, and 2 H2's
its AutoCad 14. i have some other crawlers in 3d, but not this one. its just a pattern for the tubing to insure squareness and accuracy.

Mattdg67 11-16-2006 02:52 PM

Hey "STANG KILLA SS" I got one question for you. Are you going to put front independent suspension on it, and will it be 2WD. Also it looks like its really coming along there.

STANG KILLA SS 11-16-2006 03:49 PM

no as stated in the first post this will be a crawler ( solid axles, 4WD) that LOOKS like a baja truck. i may however leave the front motor out and run like a 13T mod motor in the rear for some fun in the dirt/sand :D. next build ill probly make a true baja IFS 2WD truck. im still trying to track down one of the 1/6 tundra bodies.

slugzracing 11-16-2006 03:52 PM

Just a heads up but you will want aluminum or solid delrin wheels to avoid burning through hexs like a fat kid at an ice cream bar. The finished weight will be be kinda high and 2.2 wheels strip quickly on rigs this big.

Other than that very cool and get building. The All-Ts wil give it a good baja stance"thumbsup"

STANG KILLA SS 11-16-2006 03:57 PM

good point.
one thing i cant decide is on the interior.
should i leave the stock tan interior and work cage around it. al la prerunner
or do sheetmetal interior/dash/door panels, race seats etc. al la race truck

im kinda partial to the race interior.....

slugzracing 11-16-2006 06:45 PM

If the body is not going to change much keep the stock interior. If you were going to be hacking on the body to make it look like anything other than what just left the dealer then a sheet metal interior would be in order IMO

STANG KILLA SS 11-16-2006 07:46 PM

no its gonna get hacked. front and rear bumpers gone, tailgate gone, bed floor gone(already), wheelwheels enlarged, etc. and a monotone white paintjob with race/sponsor decals.
