I was thinking to buy those, but i find that its hard to get a proper rims ( Od is like normal 40 series, but the width is way different).

I'm going to try and squeeze them onto proline commando beadlocks, I believe they are 3.4" wide. if that doesn't work I have a couple other ideas, I'll update this thread with a wheel solution so keep watching.

No videos yet, still finishing up with the wheels and installing the electronics. I'm not sure if I'm going to go dual Dewalt 820 18v's or a Neu 1527. I have both sitting on the work bench.
Im leaning towards the dual Dewalts on 5 or 6s. The Neu 1527 could really chew things up spinning these tires!

Thanks Mike, I appreciate that, glad to be back! 2015 was a busy year, new baby, sold my business to start a new one, wife changed jobs as well. My oldest boy (4 years old) is getting interested in RC, it has allowed me to devote a little time to it again. Its great fun working with him. We exchange tools and while I'm building he puts nuts, washers, screws together, puts wheel hexes in wheels etc. Anything he can figure out. He will sit quietly for hours with me working, it's great fun!

I pulled this rig (pictured below) apart swapping parts around for the truck above and am probably going to use the two 18v Dewalt motors I got for this rig as well. It got me to thinking that I might change this truck to solid axles and nix the duals in back. I have two 65:1 Super Bully axles and am looking for another two. I was going to do 3 axles in the back and one in front, four in total without the dually wheels and 3 axles currently.
I believe getting rid of the duals in back will give it the ability to steer better and with four axles traction will still be great even with two less tires on the ground.
I have two HH 35t hand wounds and two brxl's, I also have two 35t Integry Lathe motors and two 55t LRP Truck Puller II motors.
I'd rather use cheap motors on this rig, the Integry or LRP motors. What do you think, will four 35t Integry Lathe motors or four 55t LRP's, if I can find two more of either with 65:1 reduction will power this beast? It's heavy as hell and slow, I doubt I've ever gone over 5 mpg and probably never will. I could use the two brxl's, 2 motors each, I believe they'd be up to the challenge, I'd run it on 3 or 4s.

I could also buy some inexpensive Chinese brushed motors and speed controllers or 4 smaller Dewalt motors.... I just want to keep these changes on the CHEAP!

Any ideas, insights, opinions or input are greatly appreciated.

I don't really know, champ. I know going from a 35t to a 55t will slow it down a lot, but for a rig this size, with those big tires, you might need the 35t for that extra bit of oomph. On the other hand, the 55t will give you more low end torque, but no wheel speed.

On my 1/6 Jeep, I'm going to change the 35t for a 55t for a more scale crawl, hopefully similar to having a divorced trans/transfer, like some of the other Jeep builders have.

You might want to send a pm to HH and ask his opinion, since motors are his specialty.

Mike, great advice reaching out to HH, he's always given great advice!

If I'm not mistaken my final drive ration was about 86:1 with the summit transmission, differentials, pinion and spur.
Previously my calculated wheel speed was approximately 4.5 to 5mph, it was mostly adequate.
Assuming the 65:1 is actually the final drive ratio including the pinion (I'm not sure if this is accurate, I don't know how the Super Bully axles ratio is calculated) the 55t motors seem to fit the bill. 35t=7mph, 55t=4.5mph, both on 3s.
55t would be close to the same KW of the big brushless motor I was using, it was 825kv, 55t motors are closer to 1000kw I believe. I know a standard sized 540 brushed motor produces so much less power that the Neu, again, a good reason to go with 55t. Hopefully four 55t motors will provide adequate torque paired with the Super Bully axles reduction.

I've been looking for a high wind 550 brushed motor, can't seem to find any, does anyone have somewhere to point me? I'd like to find some inexpensive 55t 550 brushed motors.

Did a search here, and found some members years ago talking about a 55t, 550 Titan motor, but I looked on Traxxas website and e-bay and couldn't find anything, lots of different 55t 540's, but not what you're looking for. Axial has a 55t for $19, and a rebuildable one for $30, but I think they're both 540's, but not sure, as they don't list what size.

Thanks Mike. My hope is that someone will chime in with a can motor part # for a power tool or something, I found a few 550's but all were in the 20 turn range.

I'm still waiting on a response from HH, I got a partial reply yesterday but not the detail I was looking for.

I might have found what I'm looking for! There are quite a few variations of the rs-550. Mabuchi makes some or all of them, there are 12 & 18v varieties. They're under $15 each.

EDIT: I've searched around trying to find some torque and efficiency specs for quality 540 motors, can't seem to find any. Does anyone know how the torque and efficiency specs below compare? I'm ready to pull the trigger on these but I'd like a little more info on if these are actually stronger than a quality 540.
