I found this mostly intact New Bright 1/6 scale toy on the on line flea market. No controller and the front end is missing the lower plates that position the steering knuckles so it’s “broken”. The front skid is missing as well as is the driver side door mirror, but I got it for a good price so I HAD to. Lol Plans were to stretch my Everest 10 to fit the wheel wells, but I think I’m going to build/rebuild it from the ground up. It had cob webs inside and a few scratches and scuffs that some I have already been buffed out with headlight plastic cleaner/polish so it’s a viable base to start from imo. This build and thread will be slow as time allows, but I’m in no hurry. Next to the e10 Interior Wheel/tire comparison to a maxx tire on a geode wheel. And... an H3 shell just in case I might need a basher body. Non opening doors, no lights, and no interior. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It's a good start, and between the body and the e-10, you have the start of something BIG, pardon the pun. you will/may want to either fab your own ladder frame, or check out some of the other builds in this section to see what others have used. On my 1/6 G.I. Joe jeep, I used SCX-10 rails and a wraith skid, but that requires a lot of modification to the skid to get it to fit right. I'll be following, looks like it will be a great build |

Thanks Mike. I’m really excited about this project. I got more than what I thought really. My fun in this hobby stems more from the building than in the playing. I’ve never really taken on a project like this so it, while being slow, will be fun. I will read everything in this section to see what and how others have done things. The e10 however will remain as it is. My gf watched me unbox the hummer and immediately said “wow, that thing needs to be tricked out.” Sadly, she has no idea what she just said, lol. So, she just got an e10 so she has something to use and not feel left out. If I feel deprived during this build process, I suppose I can always fire up the erbe sitting on the shelf. I'm wondering if a Gmade GS-01 chassis from a Komodo or Sawback wouldn't be a good starting base...they're about 1:8...

Sweet score. H2 looks brand new. What is the wheelbase and width? I have only built one 1/6 scale and currently on another. Ridiculously frustrating at times but so so rewarding in the end. |

Wheelbase is right at 16 inches. Width is 12.5 outside to outside of tires. The body is 26 long including the bumpers, and 11 wide not including the side mirrors. It will take awhile and I’m sure it’ll get frustrating as well, but I’m not in any hurry. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Figuring out the wheelbase, wheel offset , and track width with 3.8 maxx wheels and tires. It’s a little short on wheelbase. Thinking maybe trex axles with some wideners. Not sure yet, just mocking up, measuring, looking around the web for parts. The new 1/5 scale Traxxas desert racer suspension looks promising as well since it’s an ifs font and solid rear like an h2 3.8’s with 17mm hexes fit the stock axle shafts and would fit well in the wheel openings with the proper wheelbase, but the stock wheels are a tad too small to fit 3.8 tires. And some left over light buckets. Last edited by E10rc; 05-04-2018 at 05:24 PM. |

Finally decided on talon ext tires and black spoke 3.8 wheels with 17mm adapters. About the closest tread pattern and I could find in approx the same size as originals. Probably going with wraith axles and skid to start the chassis build. I’m going to try bent steel frame rails and crossmembers. Thinking a front mounted motor/trans under the “engine” with a divorced transfer case on the skid. I can make links, but the driveshafts will be store bought. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

When folks tell you your tires are backwards, just tell them you like to get out of trouble as fast as you get into it |
