Wow, that looks nasty! "thumbsup" Very cool blacked out like that. I'd love to see a video of it running.

Re: My 1/6 scorpion

That looks mean. Those XLs look spot on for this.

Always refreshing to see something that's not a Jeep in this section.

I like it... "thumbsup"
the blacked out theme looks swell.
^ but for how long ? Lol

Will we be seeing brite yeller
when ya scratch 'er up a 'lil bit ? http://www.websmileys.com/sm/evil/teu17.gif oops

I have two complete original 1/6 scale Nylints
and they still run as good as new.
One is a scorpion another is the jeep.
plus I have an extra new jeep body.

Sadly they sit around collecting dust

I have thought about making a custom chassis
to fit those bodies... (I just might run them if I did)
tho' that fantasy is probably why they're still collecting dust.

I would have to do more then just think about it... eh
How 'bout I send you two 1/6 scale nylint's...
and you convert them and send them back ! ? Lol/jk

^ or sell them, then share the profit with me

pics of 'em stock (just adding more color your thread) Lol

Re: My 1/6 scorpion

I have been looking for a jeep body to throw on it sometimes but can't find one. The yellow shows up under the paint sometimes but it's an easy touchup with flat black. The next thing I want to donit make a better chassis and links.

Re: My 1/6 scorpion

Finally got a jeep body! I had to lift it a little to fit.

Re: My 1/6 scorpion

Been itching to build a 1/6 scale Nylint bodied rc for awhile now.

So I purchased a Wraith kit
with no intention of building it as a wraith.
Instead I want to fabricate a scale(ish) chassis
run the wraith drive train/axles...
and use either/or the 1/6 Scorpion and Jeep Nylint bodies

Yeah I'll still have two fully operational Nylint chassis's
doing nothing but collecting dust.
maybe 'dem ebay peeps will want them ? Lol

Really like that scorpion blacked out look.
plastic dip work ?

I could alternatively abuse the unpainted Jeep body

I find more enjoyment in driving rc's...
then the time spent constructing them.
But it's not going to build itself

Thursday the Wraith arrives.
and hopefully I can start soon after.

Lol... I never throw anything away.

I must have the RC hoarder illness !?
But the junk is not waist deep yet...
so I must be ok !?

you'll have to buy my scorpion body
if you want me to be rid of it :flipoff:

I agree with TacoCrawler. I very rarely get rid of anything. Mounds of rc parts in just about every room in my house.

Here's some pictures of my initial mock up
of mating the Nylint Jeep body to a Wraith drive train/suspension.

http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0v3k87b5.jpg

still planning and ordering assembly parts.
But will start my own write-up/thread whence I get going.

I'll use Revo rod ends and make my own links...
I will be using WB8 drive shafts which will be extended using the double female ends (cut to length)
along with a centered floating spline shaft. (aka: similar to the Deadbolt)

at least... that's what I aim to attempt !? ;-)

Looks great so far. "thumbsup"

I would extend the front axle farther forward and widen up the width a little. Just my .02.

Once i find axles for mock up i am thinking of using Yeti XL driveshaft in my build. Initial measurements it is pretty close. Closer than modifying a MIP or stock shaft.

I may go with wider (maybe taller) tires later on...
but these will suffice for mock up and prep.

The front axle will get pushed slightly forward...
but not too far.

I actually like that the tires don't stick out too much.
as I'm trying to maintain a stock look.

If I wanted the tires sticking out way past the fenders/body...
I'd just convert it back to the Wraith chassis.

But I don't really like/want that...
or I'd have built the Wraith as it should be and called it a day.

I'm not building a monster jeep.
