Default 1/6 scale Jeep Gladiator build.

1/6 Jeep Gladiator.

19" wheelbase, AR60 axles, Custom BPC chassis, Custom MIP drive shafts (7.5" long) R2J 1/4" custom links, 220oz KMS winch, Holmes Hobbies 13T, VP Trans with steel gears and Hurtz dig unit. Proline TSL XL'S with Gear Head wheels etc, etc. Need to figure out a front bumper and sliders and start scaling it out.

Climbs like a goat.

Last shot is for size comparison.

Great job Norton! Looks like it'd be a blast, Those TSL XL's look like they were made for it, not too big, not too small.

Thanks, I also bought a set of Voodoo U4's for it but they just didn't look right. To small and narrow. The foams in the XL's are ridiculously huge so I went with CI double deuces. Perfect.

Update on the new body! Cut the running boards off and punched out the windows on the new body. Gray primer has been laid down. Once I cut the running boards of the new body, I had to on the red one. It was a fun day in the garage today, each one got a little love. Didn't crawl but had some fun! The red body was just a test bed of sorts. Get ready for a beater carpentry truck. This bugger is getting a full interior!

Lookin' great. What chassis are you going with? The same one or something different?

Same chassis, two bodies. One beater and one clean. Now that it has a ROC 412 in it, it's a monster.

need to add some black wash to the rust, it'll add some depth, and bring out the rust from the body color.

The pics don't do it justice, this is actual rust. The paint I use has metal in it and then you spray a activator and bam, Rust. There are some more steps involed before it's done. Like the "Dub".

Gonna go with my other set of tires and wheels and keep the shiners for the red body. Probably weather these wheels also.

Rust never sleeps!

I always wondered how large the body needed to be for 2.2 tires to look scale. That's a groovy bus.

Is that bus body the Tamiya 23 Window? Do you have a build thread. I've got a thing for VW buses

Norton, what do you have planned for the side mounted spare tire carrier?
I have the same body and thought about shaving it down and making a double gas can mount.

On the gray body I'm going to use it as a air hose reel. It's going to be a beater carpentry truck.

It's was a 21 window hard body in 1/10. Not sure of the manufacturer.

You should have shortened the bed and it would make it better looking and better a 4x4, you can always do that later when your up to it. I'm pretty sure you seen the one I did.

Some updates: Got the weathering where I want it so thought I'd mock up a interior that I may keep now. Started messing with side windows and the clean beadlocks are getting weathered also.

Coming along well, I like the rusty hinges and the partially rolled down window, nice touch!
