| What shafts?
Me and my cousin are in the process of building him a 1/6th scale raptor from scratch, the axles we had laying around are from an old wheelie king and the trans is a stock scx10 unit. One problem were having is finding a proper size drive shaft i let him mock up with my scx10 mips bit they were too short, so what shafts do you large scale guys run?

I utilize the Axial Wild Boar HD drive shafts for my 1:6 = 16.5" wheel base. They can be set up for a few different lengths... So as to fit any wheel base that Axial has for the SCX-10 or Wraith. I use the longest female tubes of the plastic tree assortment. along with the longest spline center slip shaft. Fits and works well for my particular wheel base. ^ they utilize plastic spline tubing along with metal universals that mount to the Axial Trans stock output drives and axle housing pinion outputs. Mine have held up to 3s LiPo use. google - Axial Wild Boar HD driveshaft kit It's likely your wheel base will be too long for these. Specifically the rear length. PM user cmbscx10 as he used a longer truck wheel base and had to come up with longer drive shafts for his build. visual... Last edited by TacoCrawler; 01-25-2017 at 11:25 AM. |

Tacos WB is perfect for the HD shafts. Beyond that your either custom making MIP's or use Punishers like I did. Mine were the 192mm and I was set up at 18.5 and could go to 19" without coming apar and still have 10mm of shaft engagement. Punisher Shafts ** Edit ** I also have these for my 16.75"WB TJ if I ever get around to working on it. They may or may not fit depending on your required length. Just another option. I had to use the Punisher shaft also on the rear of my Jeep. From RC4WD, Punisher Shaft II, (150mm-192mm/5.9"- 7.5") part # Z-S0537 |

I use Traxxas 6761 on my 1/6 Jeep. They hold up for years of use before the u-joint area wallows out.

You should get a build thread going on those trucks. I'm interested to see how they turn out.
