I figured out way to light up the roof lights. I was digging through my Misc. drawer of RC parts and found a roll of strip lights i was going to use on on my Wraith for Rock Lights. I cut the length i needed and mounted it to a alum plate. How did i do? |

Added recovery points to the bumper. Only came in black so i painted the shackles Orange. Those little screws were a PITA. |

While waiting for funds to get driveshafts and links, i made a quick Power Tank (Still need to paint) and Sand Ladders out of an old Espresso machine catch. Last edited by cmbscx10; 07-27-2015 at 08:12 PM. Reason: Added Description |

Nice job on the shakels, lights and power tank. My I suggest using a 5 hour energy drink container for the PT? Might be a little more scale for these larger rigs. |

I don't drink that stuff but picked up a 5 hour energy drink container to see what it would look like. To be honest the scale on this thing is off all over the place. Sometimes it's 1/6 scale and sometimes it's 1/8 scale with a few measurements in between 1/6 & 1/8. Which one looks more "scale"?

The CO2 bottle actually looks closer to scale, just my .02

| Re: Ford F350 HD All-Pro Expedition Pack Rack Build Thanks Mike. I agree. I like the idea of the 5hr Energy drink but it looks too fat and just a little big. I was able to trade a Wraith for the below. ROC 412 2300kv, MMP & SSD Centered Axle (GF Spool & HD Gears). Still accumulating funds for the shafts and links. I think i will use my homemade links for now and put that $$ towards a servo to get her up and running. I hope the 2300kV motor will be sufficient torque wise. Plan on running 3S. |

You should love the Rock 412, she's a beast. Keep it geared low and it should last a good long time.

...CO2 bottle should be mounted upright at least if replicating 1:1 use. |

the valve/regulator is ok with CO2 gas in contact of that. But it is not designed to handle the liquid CO2 The CO2 liquid rests on the lower side whereas the lesser percentage of gas is located at the upper side. Laying it horizontally may allow the CO2 liquid to enter the valve. If one chooses to stow it on it's side... then they should upright it prior to use... and... let it settle for a bit before using. Being fully confident that all CO2 liquid has drained from the valve. If the CO2 liquid is in the valve when released(opened)... it could freeze up the valve/regulator and create excessive pressure/ spiking. That pressure spike could damage the valve/reg. Also the liquid CO2 can become corrosive and cause damage to the valve if any H2O/condensation exists inside the valve/tank. Folk may get away with laying it on it's side... but generally it's not a good idea. ^ none of this matters with static model displays of course. Lol

I forgot but i ordered Qty 1 driveshaft to make sure it would work accordning to my measurements. I went with a Punisher Punisher Shaft II (150-192mm, 5.90"-7.55") 5mm hole. This one works with my Wheel Base. If/when i blow up the tranny i will go to 6mm extended outputs and still be ok with shaft travel. I wanted to do MIP's but i don't have the knowledge or tools to extend them. They are flippin heavy so i don't expect the stock trans to hold up very long with these and the Roc 412 but at least i know that. That's just over 1/2lb in Drive Shafts. Geeze. Now that the DS works i will order up another soon. If/when i do custom links i think i might do the 30deg bends like the one on the left for the lowers. I don't see a need for the uppers to be bent as there is a ton of room for clearance. Last edited by cmbscx10; 07-31-2015 at 10:39 PM. Reason: Grammer Correction |

Looking good, the Punishers aren't bad but they can get sloppy after awhile. When you do decide to go with MIP's give me a shout. |

you might think to 180* that shaft... sucks when it fills up with crud and jambs up or sub-grade chinese steel + moisture = rust don't worry tho'... it'll probably break before it rusts !? |

| Re: Ford F350 HD All-Pro Expedition Pack Rack Build I was wondering who would catch that. In my personal experience and terrain i run in, installing the shaft the way i have it makes for less crud but like you said it may break before it comes to that anyway.

That Losi LST XXL is the one I would be tricking out. I have built 2 of them on a 17.5'' wheel base and installed a Yeti XL body to it. The top deck is carbon fiber and uses a Traxxas Summit transmission with HV servos through out. It is my favorite RC to date. You should look into trying it. Uses the drive axles as the drive shafts to get the longer wheel base.

Mike, I also use the punisher shaft, and that same size, also on the rear of my jeep. It's definitely durable as I've beat the hell out of it on the rocks in my yard for the last year, and no problems. Definitely want to switch it around though so it doesn't collect dust inside the shaft. A far as the links go, you're using a wraith skid with ar60's, there should be zero binding issues with the driveshaft, bent links on top, bend closer to trans output, no binding on driveshaft. |
