It will be my first attempt at brazing so it should be interesting...

"Right now i am running stock ratios F/R 38/13. On the list is UD gears (43/13). When i get those i'll put the HD gears currently in the back in the front".

I originally was running over/under in mine with a dig in the back. Hated it! Testing on the carpet I noticed going forward it would start to squat down until the shocks were all the way compressed. Once I would hit free wheel on the dig it would pop back up to normal height. Mine really is so long that it won't roll over front or back. Under/under is where I'm at now and am loving it. I run over/unders in all my 1.9's but the Gladiator did not like it at all.

Norton,
Our rigs are so close to the same weight and length i Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience on the Gears. That makes total since to run UD at both ends. Glad i haven't ordered gears yet.

My Bed Rack, Rock sliders and Rear Bumper were my 1st. I was very skeptical of my ability to braze but 1/2 way through the bed rack i started to get it and it was/is a heck of a lot of fun to do the Rock Sliders and Rear bumper. I will be doing a Front Bumper much later but can't wait. What is nice about brazing is that it is overall stupid cheap to make something all your own.

Wholly Crap. I first looked but didn't see what you were talking about. The bent shock shaft on the right. Were you jumping again?

I think i see some missing bolts in your Truss ??

I am leaning towards the PL's as well. What C.I. foams did you end up with?

I actually bent all four, two of them real good. The initial bend came from a driver error of going full speed on a asphalt road and rolling it four times at about 20-25 mph. Bent them back with some needle nose and started the 200 gate course. The only tool I brought with me on the run was the needle nose pliers. They were fine on the course but over the rest of the weekend I had to straighten them a couple more times. New ones have been ordered.

As far as C.I. Foams, I'm using 6.0 Double Deuce standards with medium outers.
On another note, I heard VP has stopped production of the Incision motor plate/gear cover. I finally grabbed one for the Gladiator. These motor plates stop movement in between the pinion and spur drastically which is a must have on this rig.

Wow. How is the body? Sucks all 4 bent but glad you made it through the gates.

Thanks for the CI foam info.

Thanks for the heads up on the VP motor Plate. All my SCX & Wraith stock trans have flexed like mad so i know what you mean. I am not ready to pull the trigger on the VP motor plate but if i have to go with a SS AX10 in a color i have no choice on that is in stock, SS Wraith minus the 4th hole or STRC that will have to do.

I am not $$ ready but sent out my Link request for quote to two RCC vendors and received no responses. Disappointed but moving on.

Still waiting for my shocks to arrive so decided to give making links from scratch a try. I like most have bought solid links, studs and Revo ends for custom links. With these links being 175mm & 180mm eye 2 eye, i couldn't find a pre-made solid link long enough from RPP, RC4WD etc. I have never been able to accurately drill a center hole without it walking to one side or the other so I did a little Google searching on how to drill a "center" hole and though 1 or 2 are maybe .5mm off it is good enough for me. I made the lower links out of 5/16 Steel for a little weight down low and the uppers out of 1/4 Aluminum. Happy with how my first ones turned out.

** I need to cut the studs to length for the Revo ends after loctite cures and give them a little sanding. **

It's not mess, it's "Lived In", I can't stand people that have to have an immaculate house, because that's all it is , a house, not a home.

Agreed and Couldn't have said it any better.

I received all kinds of cool stuff in the mail tonight.

Awesome custom stickers from a fellow RCC member aka TacoCrawler. Thanks again. I appreciate it very much.

My shocks. Need to drain them as i forgot to ask what was in them and fill back up with shock oil. Will install tomorrow and start running this thing already.

...glad they worked for ya.

My son printed them stacked on top of each other
without enough spacing between IMO.

And the white surround was so micro tiny...
probably should've just ignored that micro line.

if they were mine...
I'd have removed all the white surround altogether...
and called it good.

^ ...still can
because they're vinyl.
they should peel off and reapply without issue.

( Tho'... I couldn't insure your paint surface will hold up to that !? )

Good day of driving but terrible terrible day of videos. I have never filmed from my transmitter where i strapped my Contour Roam. I need to learn to point the camera up farther and pay attention to things in the background. I am too worried about getting side shots that i end up shooting 1/2 the rig and 1/2 the ground. I had to edit out a lot of footage. Still learning so we will see how the next ones turn out.

The GMade shocks are nice and no leaks to report after the last 2 runs. I think i have the correct weight oil in them.

I have never crawled with such a long wheelbase so finding the right line as to not high center every 5sec and terrain is challenging. Sure glad i build the rock sliders otherwise i would still be stuck somewhere.

Since Norton with his Gladiator is the only one i know of that has close to my WB it would be nice to see how he drives his and the type of terrain.

I'll be taking out the Jeep next weekend to a GTG in Santa Rosa. I'll try to get some video of it then. I also have a buddy who took a lot of vid last time we were at Cisco Grove. He's working on getting it to me when he has some time.
