Re: Crawler Innovations, Szczerba Built, & JWalker Designs Willys Build Not much this evening as the gas solenoid on my welder is going out and using more gas. Been having to turn the bottle off manually. Tank is almost empty anyways. Simple c-channel rear bumper. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/12...5f47ceca67.jpg |
Re: Crawler Innovations, Szczerba Built, & JWalker Designs Willys Build Hey looking very stout, nice work. These big jeeps are sweet, I'm very interested to see how this one looks in the end! Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk |
Crawler Innovations, Szczerba Built, & JWalker Designs Willys Build Thanks kranswell. Axles https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...33e8361104.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ffb7250f24.jpg Some work done. Extended out the rear axle and the jeep now sits at 14" wheelbase. Moved the shocks. Pivot bolt goes through fender well. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4696f8fb4a.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...957702100b.jpg Chopped the rear fenders and bumper. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...36594ef9a3.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...91980d09ef.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...97fc8d16ec.jpg Start of tube work. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f20d0470ad.jpg |
Re: Crawler Innovations, Szczerba Built, & JWalker Designs Willys Build ...looking good "thumbsup" ummm but what are those upper shock mounts secured to ? metal shock tower's behind the plastic of the body - inner fender well ? Don't say "just the body plastic" !? more detail please before I call it less then ideal !? Lol/jk |
Re: Crawler Innovations, Szczerba Built, & JWalker Designs Willys Build The shock mount has three points of attachment to the 1/8" thick inner fender. There is no concern on it failing, the plastic is too thick and the shock mount has three points of attachment on 2 planes. edit, I can see your concern now. I didn't have the two top mount screws screwed in in the picture I posted. lolz ... |

Re: Crawler Innovations, Szczerba Built, & JWalker Designs Willys Build Yup, nice and thick 1/8" plastic or so. All the tube work tacked in place. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...a39d5773d0.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...8298e0d53a.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...58721c7904.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...bd0af39b7c.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...c82ab4a978.jpg |
Re: Crawler Innovations, Szczerba Built, & JWalker Designs Willys Build Tube work looks real sharp, Jeep's got a nice clean look now "thumbsup" |
Re: Crawler Innovations, Szczerba Built, & JWalker Designs Willys Build like your fender tube work "thumbsup" I'll be doing something similar for my TJ well except the part of removing body material to open the rear wheel well(s) rearward like yours. ...cool but I can't come to terms with permanently altering my body. |

Thanks. Nothing too special, just following the body lines. Front bumper helped the overall look too I think. Quote:
Ahh, just some plastic. Can't leave it stock. [emoji12] |
Re: Crawler Innovations, Szczerba Built, & JWalker Designs Willys Build I'm liking this build. I have a couple of large scale jeep builds. One I'm completely re building so that performance is unmatched. The tires I'm using are the Rock Beast XL that just came out. It uses a 16'' wheelbase. It will be fun to see what level of performance yours will be at. The scale it top notch. |
Re: Crawler Innovations, Szczerba Built, & JWalker Designs Willys Build Back on it. Chopped all but the front windshield hoop out. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...f5a9b9dcaa.jpg It still has the willys "tallish" cage look but way less dramatic. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...d5e2906092.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...27d91d9379.jpg |
Re: Crawler Innovations, Szczerba Built, & JWalker Designs Willys Build That is going to be a fun jeep to watch go. |

I'm always enjoying seeing all of the different twists on how these models get built. I still believe that these are the most fun you can have going slow! |
Re: Crawler Innovations, Szczerba Built, & JWalker Designs Willys Build This is looking excellent. I've been away for a while, it's good to see some work still being done on some 1/6th Jeeps..."thumbsup" |
