Default Look what Snata did not bring me

I scored for $63.02 with shipping before New Years maybe

Been wanting a 6 scale, I like the Military Jeeps but there is a lot of those

And I wanted some thing different so when I seen the Humvee

I had to get this 1:6 Scale 21st Century Toys Humvee

In green and white camo and it will fit 12'' action figures

Its

21 3/4'' long

10 1/2'' tall

10 1/4 '' wide

not sure of the wheel base until I measure it out

I got a 2 Wraiths, that I built as kits, a half top and a full top

so I need to check it out

I might just mount the skid plate centered and figure out the length of links

needed or I might have to build a chassis and still use the Wraith skid plate

and After Taco built one

I had to go big or go home

I'm already at home

You'll have to buy that Traxxas Xmax

'cause the hummer utilizes 4 wheel independent suspension.

but if you continue referring to 'im as " Snata "

He won't be delivering, to your house, next Christmas fo sho !?

Now you get to play with GI Joe dolls too Lol

too bad I'm never gonna see it running or in a video

Nope, no dolls, no action figures, no machine guns, no bullet holes

This is a wheeler

Going to try and keep it simple this time

And make a cool crawler

Since the back opens that could be the battery bay or the electronics bay

Or the battery under the hood

Need to check it out

Taco plays with dolls, he said it himself

girls and Taco, play with dolls, boys play with action figures, Men play with them selves

That's why my studio is cranking out porn

Yeah Baby

People got their DVD Box Sets on time

So it was a Merry XXXmas after all

The real one is a M1025 Armored Recon or hmmwv which means High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle

The picture is how it was sold, the Ultimate Soldier set in Artic Camo, I got one, 1:6 scale M2 .50 Cal machine gun with ammo belt and ammo cans and 2 M60's with ammo belts and ammo cans

I could make it Military but I'm not it is going to be a crawler and I'm not getting action figures

Here is a picture one with snow tracks at the winter weather training camp

I seen a full set tracks, a while back for a SCX10

I need to see if they make them for AR60 axles

What is a "Snata", and hopefully you're going to ditch everything above the beltline because it's horribly out of proportion compared to the 1:1

I like it, there is a lot of 1:6 scale Willy Jeep builds and have seen a lot of New Brite builds, the Humvee is something different and have not seen one made into 6th scale

And the price was right and I did not have to bid on it, Like the Willy's Jeep, there way too expensive for me, cause the more the detail the higher the price goes, I found one reasonable Willy's Jeep

But it was missing parts and was smashed at one point, not worth the money, that's why it was cheap and no one was bidding on it for that reason

I then seen the Humvee and that was it, I'm not going to buy any action figures

It going to be a wheeler from the get go

That would make a neat crawl with a good 4 wheel independent suspension. Thats the way i would go with it. But Wraith axles and 4 link would be easier.
Good luck with it .

That will be a nice project. It looks like you need to chop the roof though. The windshield looks to be about an 1'' too tall compared to the 1:1.

Yeah Baby

My mail person delivered the Humvee today

And it was instantly prepared surgery

The Humvee went thru several operations

and is going to recover Nicely

now I'm not sure what the next step is

I could use some channel and make a straight frame like the square plastic ribbing on the under side of the Humvee

I used my half top Wraith and you can see it needs about a 1 1/2'' longer links and it would be close

The wheel base looks to be about 16'' long or longer to center the axles in the wheel wells

Or I could brace up the Humvee bottom plate and mount the Wraith skid plate centered but there would be a lot of trimming so the upper and lower links have clearance to travel, not sure how I would mount the shocks

With a frame I could make mounts for the shocks, and still use the Wraith skid plate

I need options and ideas from other 1:6 scale builders

I want to maybe make a cab back with window and roof and make it a pick up

or build a roll bar and make a fabric top for it

I would like to drop the windshield down,

so it would look more like the real Humvee like the one in the previous posting

And that way I don't need a 12'' inch action figure, I get way with a 7'' or 8'' action figure that fits a Wraith and I got extra Wraith seats so I can use them

Cause I have some Wild Willy's Drivers but there the wrong size and not the right scale

My point exactly, lol

Dennis, you can use the same 12" figure, just cut them off @ the knees to make them fit, I think a 7" figure would be too small proportionately. Also, if you're not sure what kind of frame you want to make, you can modify the Wraith skid to fit between scx10 frame rails, it's what I did on my Jeep. Got to cut the lower lip off, and grind down the sides a bit to fit into the rails, and grind some angles into the front of the skid because the scx10 rails angle in at the front. Also need to drill new holes in the scx framerails. I think there was one hole on each side that actually lined up. I also had to extend the frame front and rear for the bumpers. Check out my Jeep build.

I need a 16'' wheel base or longer

I don't think a SCX10 chassis would be long enough

so I need to due some looking online and see what I get an idea from

I made a roof out of cardboard its not pretty

It gives me an idea of what it would look like as pickup

I want to drop the windshield and doors but not sure at what height

So the roof looks right

Cause I could possible make it a soft top with a vinyl back window or

I could try to make sheet metal roof but not sure if can get the curves or bends right

I have never tried styrene and I really don't have money too buy,

What need make bends and curves in styrene

Can't afford to screw it up

And kind of liking the soft top idea

maybe stitch stiff wire into fabric so it holds the shape of cab

hey why do people on here keep saying my name !!

hello I'm kgb424 that's me I've been around awhile

And I don't like people using my name

it pisses me off, cause I like the privacy of the user name

I choice who I let know my real name

And when thank you

Again I'm kgb424

all though the profile may say otherwise

I don't call people by the first cause I respect there privacy and the fact that they picked a user name

and that is how they want to be addressed

And that's how I want to be addressed

kgb424

Except Tacocrawler we use first names, and thru transactions with venders and pay pal transactions, first and last names are used and I don't have a problem with it

Its just when people use it on here

My cage was rattled earlier

And I'm ready to rock

Hey Taco Crawler

I looked BPC chassis and

I found this its a conversion kit for a Wraith skid plate to work as SCX10 based chassis

Maybe I could split it in between the skid plate mounting screws and a section that is long enough to give me a 16'' wheel base

but not sure if the shock loops are at the right height, it might work for the front, not sure about the back shock loops

Since I got the stock Wraith shocks that 103 mm I think

I really don't know now

I did find pics of a Humvee similar to mine, the person posted that they were starting the build

And that was back in 2007, I messaged the person, hopefully they got some pictures and will update their build,

so I can check it out, and maybe get some ideas

I also found this pic of Humvee pick up, I cant see the back of the cab, going to look for more single cab Humvee's

Too get some pictures of the cab roof and back window

And see if they made a soft top version of the single cab

I'm going Commando

No top, No back, No back window

Just one or maybe 2 loops like some of the pictures I found

I like the look of it with no top and it would a lot easier cause, not sure if I could make a roof that doesn't look like shit

And I found 2 picture of a Bobbed bed Humvee and I really kind of like it

But not sure if I want to cut mine up that bad, it would look bad ass and be different then the next guys

I got a extra 2.2'' Rock Lizard as spare for the bed, to give it more of a off road look

Its a good thing I keep the extra crap from my Axial builds

Cause I took the spare tire mount from my SCX10 Jeep Rubicon and cut it to fit inside the fender wells

And with the right length of plastic from a parts tree, I will be able to get the angle of the tire I like

I also found an extra Wraith steering wheel and some parts tree plastic and made a steering column

I just need figure out the length I want and attach it, cause the Humvee was missing its steering wheel

So now I need to look for some material/stock to make me a loop for the roof after figure out how much too cut out the windshield

And need to order some styrene, so I can brace the windshield after lowering it, I got body glaze around here some where too
