Rebuilt front axle with SSD parts on Orange, dropped a 55t Tekin and a new BlueBird servo. Well the servo was a pita, the stock axial Tactic was stronger and centered but eventually died. This supposedly 300oz would barely turn the wheels and got extremely hot, wouldn't center or hold end points. So I installed a Hitec 7955tg and was much stronger, centered and held end points great but, also got hot. I never noticed the axial one getting hot, maybe it was and that's why it died. What servo are you guys running and does it get hot? The Tekin motor was much much smoother with better control then the rc4wd. The gain in steering with the SSD setup is awesome! I use to run a Hi-Tec 645mg, but when the weight became an issue, and the steering became unresponsive, I switched to a Savox SA-1231S at 444oz, I now have no problem turning the Proline TSL's, even when the front wheels are in a jam.

I have an old JR Z9100T that uses a dedicated BEC (as a voltage regulator) that has worked very well.

Finally got the front end redone on Orange with all SSD bits. Works great! RE-linked the three link setup, lots of positive steering, zero bump steer with a 400oz Bluebird servo, which is just OK. Waiting for a Racer Edge horn. I'll try to make sometime and post a video of it in action. Swiped from M8 with RooT privileges |

I like the way you mounted the servo. That way the body stay's strong and it's a clean look also.

I run a HV servo and it requires a good bec. I use the Castle 10 amp. No problems in 3 of my builds.

Here a quick vid. Great setup. Nice gain in steering! Three link and 400 oz servo is the way to-go. https://youtu.be/lE_HS5nsibk Sent from my 831C using Tapatalk |

So on Orange I mounted the battery in the back behind the back seat figuring I would disperse the weight. I find the front coming off the ground on steep ascents. On the current build I decided I would try it up front like most here. Fab-up this battery tray, secured it, snug fit, done! Well.... still have to paint it. Sent from my 831C using Tapatalk |
