Brazing is easier, and it doesn't have to cost a lot. If you have a hardware store near, go look for a Bernz-o-matic torch kit, it'll usually be a torch head, igniter, and a small propane bottle. If they have the MAPP kit, get that one instead. Mapp gas burns hotter. You'll also want to pick up some silver solder, it melts at a lower temp and it comes in rolls, but if they sell them by the sticks get those. The sticks come 5-24inch rods to a pack, and you'll need flux called Safety-Silv. Your local hardware store might have a book on beginning brazing, but if they don't, check out your local library. From the hardware store, you'll also need a small tubing cutter, but you can use a Dremel with a cut-off wheel, too. You'll also need something to braze. Stop off at the local auto parts store, and pick up a couple lengths of uncoated brakeline, I used 1/4 inch diameter brakeline for my Jeep's rollcage. I think I originally purchased 2 - 6 ft lengths, and used around 5 ft of that to make my cage, and that was with the 2 screw-ups I made and had to re-do Zoso, from RCP Crawlers makes rollcages for the Later year Hasbro Jeeps, but not sure if he'd make one for our style, ours has the wider left side, but you could send him a pm and ask. Go down to the Vendors section, or the RCPCrawler website. | |

| Re: SwampDawgs Jeep build 1st official test run since i built this thing. Went very well except i think i need to look into the firmware tomorrow. Seems as if it wasnt putting full throttle out? Otherwise was well balanced for such a heavy rig. Caution!! R/C is highly addictive!! |
