Default Large axle help!

Okay so I picked up a 1/6 nylint jeep a while back and im ready to build itm I took it out for a little ride yesterday and it did great since I took the shocks off. But I hate the acle clearance and m.o.a. so im looking for axles. What would yall recommend? I want about the same width maybe an inch wider. Stock sits at 11 3/8" center of the tires. About to go in the garage now and start building the frame.

Check out TacoCrawler's "1/6 Wraith/Nylint TJ Jeep + scale quad" build, it's on the next page of this section he's using Wraith AR 60's.

I just glanced at it last night and I started trying to find someone with a used set for trade. Then I saw people are using kyosho mad force or twin force axles which look a lot beefier. Not having much luck finding a set thats not 500$ though.

Check rcrecycler, you can usually pick up a set of used AR60 axles around $120-150

Well some good news! Trading a micro crawler for a set of wraith axles that have the extra parts to be 4wheel steer and some vanquish parts on them already. Got the frame cut and welded today. Going to split it and weld in bracing tomorrow. Holy huge. Not used to builds this big. I usually build 1.9 rigs haha

I find 1/10 scale boring compared to 1/6 scale builds. and after you drive some good ones you will not be looking back.
Good luck with your build.

Thanks man! I dont discriminate on size. Im building a 1:24 micro at the moment and a 1:10.

Got the frame bent and welded. Waiting on trans to figure out where I need holes drilled. Once I drill them ill be splitting the frame for 2 c channel halves. Excited as hell. Cant wait to get the parts in!

Yeah im anxious as hell to get the parts. Selling the blue c10 to throw all of the money into it. Id really like to get kyosho axles but my anxiousness made me trade for a set of wraith axles kinda quick when I saw the builds on here. Just gotta bulletproof the axles. Theyre coming with a couple vanquish parts on them already. Truss' knuckles c-hubs lockouts over/under drive gears. But ill need shafts and other parts im sure

You build one like this with 8.58'' rok loks and you will be spoiled for life. This is one of the good ones!

SuperShafty would be a good source for the Kyosho axles. MJ, the new owner of SuperShafty, is a big advocate and user of those. I've seen him pound the snot out of the axles without a single failure.

Yeah those irocs are nasty. Once I sell the c10 ill probably pick up a set and some kyosho axles. After a few paychecks. Got wraith axles and 2.2 boggers in a trade that are on the way but I dont want any smaller then a stock nylint tire which is about 6.5" tall. So they'll probably just get used for mock-up.

And BigSki thanks for the tip! I was browsing on there last night I believe. Ive never ventured into the large size of rc so ill probably send him a few emails and do some more research. I did see multiple people say that those axles are very tough. Id rather chuck the wraith axles to the side and get it stout from the start then dump money into them and still end up buying kyoshos. Kinda like flushing twice when you dont have to haha

I like your choices to use the larger axles if your going with 40 series tires. I like the Summit transmission. It gives you the crawler gear and high speed gear. It holds up to brushless power well and if you also go with the LEM dog carrier, it will make it stronger and take out all the unwanted play that the stock dog carrier has.

Yeah I saw a few guys using the summit 2 speed which I like the option of a high and low gear a lot

I good tire to look at that I think you may like is the PITT BULL XL tires. I have them. I don't like the stiff foam for rock crawling but the tires are very aggressive and they may be the size you need.
