Re: 1/4 scale wraith the max-W

Im thinking of using the max stone chassie for the center console since its the perfict size and makes mounting the upper links easy i have the metal gears and the yeti xl axle shafts on the way i just need to get the long side axle tubes to make the axles the right size i ran out of welding wire so i cant finnish the cage yet ether then i need to do the interior the bed all the electronics wll be in the center console im not sure where im gona mount the batteries yet though im debating running the novack 45t rockstars or if i should change out to traxxas 550 motors i have laying around and i need to find some good tires and ill have a sweet new wraith xl or kinda lol

I just got all the parts less the tires 2 days ago and will be installing them as soon as i get home im still a few days out yet its just too big to keep in the truck when im on the road im debating whether or not to use the max stone chassie as the center console i picked up a maxstone 16 and am starting to miss my maxstone 5 i might have to build a new one maybe this will be up and running in time for the king of the hammers for sure hopefully in full scale dress i dont know if i will have new tires yet though those big tires are pricy ill run the stock ones till i can aford new ones

With your fab skills, it shouldn't be to hard to make a copy of the Max-5 chassis plates.

Re: 1/4 scale wraith the max-W

Thanks yo i might try a custom crawler chassie and use maxstone parts but i think if im building a new max stone 5 is gona be close to stock because the parts are cheap after market parts that size are out of my reach price wise im realy hoping i can get the maxstone axles to hold up if they do im gona try my hand at a bomber

Re: 1/4 scale wraith the max-W

Update I'm building the axles right now I'm hoping to cut the new axle shafts today once the axles are done I'm gonna remove the Madstone chassis and add upper link mounts upper shock mounts and I'm gonna add some gussets here and there to mount the body panels to and add a few more suports the metal gears are MIA at the moment and the stock tires are way to small but I have spare plastic gears and I can run the little tires for a while I also need to make some kind of axle trusses and skid plates I'll probably have it running around Christmas And hopefully completely done by the hammers

Re: 1/4 scale wraith the max-W

The yeti xl rear axle shafts do fit i need different bearings though i sleaved the shafts as a temp solution but i have one axle built now on to the next ill get pics of where i cut the shafts at i allmost cut them to short i figured i would start with 2 shafts and im glad i did one side is about a 1/2" longer than the other hopefilly this solves the weak axke shaft problem

Re: 1/4 scale wraith the max-W

On the right is the original long side shaft which is now the short side and the new short side shaft i cut it right behind the lip on the left is a stock yeti xl shaft uncut the long side gets cut off at the pin hole and filed down till it smooth and then the flats are ground down to fit in to the locker ive never snaped a yeti xl shaft so im hopeing this will hold up
