| I still cannot see why you have to replace the hood. That is a character mark waiting for a good story (no, starting a crawler while a little hammered is not a good story )

I didnt get as much doen today as i wanted to... was workin on 5 different projects at roughly the same time.... so, here we go.... mock up pics... each location is made to hold either a scale rig,2.2 rig, or a Super... this is going to be a cage to hold extra tires and stuff profile of the trailer.. i know.. its tall!!! i have yet to build the neck of the trailer - still kinda designin it width of the trailer |

Im findin out too that the harder the trailer tires are the better! less rolling resistance if i go bashin, she will only end up pullin maybe a 2.2 or a scale rig. When its comp time, she'll be haulin both my comp rigs and lunch Last edited by TwistedXT; 05-07-2007 at 08:48 PM. | |

you know how the surge brakes work on a regular trailer? the tongue is actually floating on greased slides and connected to a brake master cylinder so when you stop it scoots the trailer forward and hits the brakes. so you are using a mechanical speed controller, right? why couldn't it work like a master cylinder? if the trailer is fairly ballenced, there won't be much binding on a sliding shaft, as the truck takes off the hitch slides out and put's power to the trailer axles. as you hit the brakes the speed controller would switch off. Maybe put a stout short spring in the slide so as you slow to a stop it just stops, but if you have to panic stop it will compress the spring enough to give some reverse brakes. or at least reverse burnt out motors. |
