I have that body also and am really glad to see you working on it again. I've been watching your thread since the beginning so it's good to see it back at the top.

Where did those kongs come from? Seems I've seen em somewhere else before.

Also what do you plan to do about the plastic spare on the side of the bed. It just seems retarded to leave it there but when you remove it, it leaves a big gaping molded hole and kills the realism of it.

Keep up the good work!

Oh man this build is killing me! I got a Gladiator and a set of kongs begging to be put together, but I am actually thinking about using the 1/6 H3 body instead, with either clod axles or a solid axle revo setup. But, I really like your setup, it was really getting me thinking about going independent on mine, why do you want to lock them and go with a solid, 4 link setup for this application?

4XFORD,
How much do you want for the Gladiator body if you decide to use the H3 one?

Default Update!!!

Got to play for just a little bit today!!! and some yesterday.. maybe more tomorrow.. we will see!!!

Removed the body so it doesnt get hurt during the "surgery"

Here is the chassis with the maxx axles mounted for independant suspension style... which will be no more!

Here is a shot of what 10 feet or small chain looks like a single Jumbo Kong!

Say goodby to the retarded independant chassis setup!!

Amazing what 20 min and a torch can do!!!

As you can see in the backround my garage is a friggin mess!!!! thats what happens when you have 4 different rc projects going on at once.. not to mention im working on my house.. Nursery, Den, Kitchen and Family room... so yeah... time is worth every penny!!!

What rims are those Jumbo Kongs mounted to? I know they come in a set with the Sayvilles or the Diamonds but they look like neither.

The reason im asking is im looking for rims that will take the jumbo kongs but are flush on the outside and run deep on the inside to take away from the width of the axles, which i am running xfactors. Basically take a deep dish wheel and flip it around, thats what im looking for.
Any ideas would help...thanks!

Sorry mulckman, I like that body way too much to sell it.

Twisted, I never got an answer, why do you want to get rid of the independent setup? It seems to me that is would be more than adequate for a trail truck setup.

IFS? eww. A trail truck should have solids under there.

The gladiator came from the factory with solid axles if i'm correct.

with how much this thing is going to end up pullin and pushin the indy ended up squating too low.. that and a solid axle design allows for more constant ground clearance. It also makes the steering easier to figure out.

ok.. ive gotten a couple of inquiries on this project.. pretty much axed it for now.. (no snow = no mtivation), and it looks stupid.. totally unproportional and blower was way to big for that body... but i have not sluffed it off completely. the frame was retired to my scale Jeep Rescue Project which is running .. i know shocker.. i finished something! .. i will be updating that thread one of these days in my "free" time.

Here is what i have been thinking... BIG.. makin it alot bigger! im slowly gathering parts... thinkin an 8x8 type of vehicle... maybe a Trata 813 style rig with the plow on the back... have a/multiple 805BB winch to raise and lower it using some pullies to release some stress on the winch servo. Mounting the snow blower on the back with a pressure switch so it would only turn on once the blower is lowered and the switch is pressed. im thinkin of using 2 nylint batteries to power the blower... figure ill get about 20-30 min of rntim out of that... just playing with some chassis ideas... i think i need 4 more jumbo kongs! This thing is going to be friggin huge! part of me actually wants to get the snow thrower that has the directional throw so as not to "huck" rocks threw any windows. right now im just brain storming and collecting parts... once i get my next scaler done (another 1/6th cough) (h2 cough).... im just playing with a new frame design and we will go from there... watch for a new build thread once winter gets close... we will see what i can pull outta my arse

Motivational pics:
(keep in mind that im a scale freek and im using Jumbo Kongs!)

picture the blower on the back facinf rearwards. that would help with the traction and the wieght to help counter balance the wieght of 2 nylint batteries and the blower hanging off the back.. that, and come summer, remove the blower and i have have one HUGE 8x8 to play with!
