Depends on the body and axle width you are wanting but I have used XR width scx axles and wraith axles for plenty of "1/6" scale builds. ... Last edited by Szczerba; 03-09-2017 at 09:25 AM. |

Wraith, Wheely/crawler King, and even CR01 axles have all been under my 1/6 builds... the width of the body is really the question.

Agree with the above. All depends on the body and frame whether SCX width or wraith width skid. I used built AR60's on my 18.5"WB Ford F350 with a 10.5" wide body coming in near 17.5lbs running 2.2 tires. Using Mad/Twin Force on my current 1/6 scale Jeep build with a 10" wide body, 16.5" WB and 3.8 Falkens. |

Same here, depending on the 1/6 body you're using, will determine which axle to use. There are a lot later model (2000-2003) 1/6 G.I. Joe Jeeps that use stock SCX-10 or XR modded axles, whereas the earlier (60's-70's) Hasbro or Nylint Jeeps look better with AR60's or Wheely/Crawler King axles, and then there's a larger 1/6 New Bright Jeep that looks better with the Mad Force axles. You'll have to look at some of the builds below to see what will work for you. tcanin00 has a couple builds going now, a Nikko Hummer and a New Bright Ford Pickup, (they are side by side in his Ford F150 build) and they are both different sizes, but both claim to be 1/6. |

I also agree that the body's width will be the determining factor. So what's your 1/6 hummer's width ? this one ? New Bright 1/6 Hummer H3 Body Scale Rock Crawler 1:6 Super Class My 11." wide Nylint TJ Jeep body sports AR60's But they were beefed up to handle the rigors. Plus I needed to lengthen them using .600 SLW hubs/wheels. If yer body is 1/4" wider then my Nylint... you'd likely need use .600 - .700 SLW hubs/wheels. ^ but the later can vary dependent of wheel offset. |

Like everyone else has said, the body will be a big factor in determining which axle to use. The AR60's can be narrowed and successfully used on the Hasbro Jeeps as well as other larger vehicles because of their width. If you can find a set of the rc4wd D44 center sections, they make a great starting point if you're capable of making your own axle tubes and link mounts. |

I'm not as fan of using Kyosho Mad Force axles. But this thread may be informative to those whom do.. How to: Building custom width Twin/Mad Force axle |
