I know how you feel. A local hobby shop/custom build shop does a $50/week budget build series on YouTube. That gave me the idea to buy a little bit every payday. I'm going with AR44 axles and will put a small hex extension if I need to set the wheels out a bit wider.

Mine will be a trail truck/crawler. Probably going with the TenShock 906 Sensorless Brushless motor

I've watched several videos of the TenShock 906 motor series, but here's a good sample video. It's a sensorless brushless crawler motor with super smooth low-end. No cogging.

Im still not sure the new ar44 axles can handle a heavy rig on 2.2 tires ive read alot about gear locker issues but then again they make one piece locker gear sets and i havent herd anything about them yet im sure there alot better but ill keep that option open for my smaller builds like the midnight pumpkin and tanka trucks lol

That's good to know. I got my new Xtra Speed all metal axles. They seem really good and had food reviews. Steel CVDs on front axle. The only negative was there were a lot of millings in the front axle housing. Once that was cleaned out, I made a slight adjustment on the locker end of one CVD. It was good to go afterward.

I'll be test running them this weekend.

Nice im running the same axles i dident have any issues with them yet i dont have the rears built up yet but the front is smooth as butter i had minnor issues with 1 of my boom racing same as xtra speed ar60 axles though but only one was off by just a little bit i ended up drilling it for a bigger bearing but i think the heavyer metal axles are needed to keep these big hard bodied rigs planted on all 4s

It's what came with the Xtra Speed SCX10 rear axle. Unfortunately, I cannot find them as spare parts so I'll have to go to a standard SCX10 locker and axles if they ever break. But, I don't see that happening.

Rear axle I bought:

Xtra Speed Aluminum & Alloy Complete Rear Axle Set For Axial SCX10 #XS-SCX-2B https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01E70VP8E..._oFGzAbMDPVV9D

Front axle I bought:

Xtra Speed Aluminum & Alloy Complete 4 Link Front Axle Set For Axial SCX10 #XS-SCX-1B https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01J0Z56EU..._MHGzAb8BGKDEY

I say if you have the means and ability, make everything that you can yourself. That's why I'm buying a 3D printer.

I was able to do a test run last night there is alot of body role in the turns but it dosent role over even at full speed it seems realer than my other rig in everything it dose the everest 10 tires that are on it seem to work realy well with the truck i want to pick up a set of new uncut ones i had a issue with th3 rear leaf springs being to soft the axle when the truck side hills the body would lean real bad and the rear axle k8nda turned a bit as.the shackles moved on one side and the rig would.slip sidways down the hill i think i tuned i5 out but im not sure yet i may have to add more springs th3 motors are getting very hot i might be changing them out soon maybe to 550 cans im not sure but i think its gona stay brushed and i have some gear noise i need to look in to then just finnish it

Snaped a front axle shaft at the proline by the fire like butter ofher than that its fun it looks top heavy has alot of.body role but relitively stable the metal axles realy do there job i had it on some step sidehills and it dident role alot the ladder rack makes a great role cage and so far the silver cans are holding i think i have a bad bearing somewere ether in the jug trans or one of the silver cans the novak speed controler sucks compaired to even the cheap escs but somehow the 2 speed makes it ok i dought its gona last to long but we will see im not using it even close to its limit so maybe it will hold up the way it works now its almost like it shifts gears so when driving it feels like a 4 speed i had it next to the axial scx10 II and there very close in size like scale wise the same scale or close enuff to run together closer than the scx10 and the wraith anyway

The whinny silver cans gave up the smoke and then the esc sent out smoke signals so i took notes and tossed the entire set up i installed some traxxass motors that last time i used them worked great so in they went and i ordered a new esc some $12 new rain 480a models i have 5 of these and i like them the first one i got was doa but every one after that worked great and i havent had one fail yet even being underwater for long periods of time then coated in sand and mud left to sit and run dirty ghese escs havent failed me yet

I did get some scaleish junk done i made a shroud fornthe fan and shaped it to look like a motor block kinda v8ish i cut up a peice of foam for a oil pan glued some bushings to it for belt pullies and used some old servo wire as a belt i made a trans also with a piece of foam for a oil pan then coated with e6000 like the engine oil pan

My next project on this is gona be the exhaust i plan on using plastic rod and make some headers and a tail pipe
