Default I found another Hasbro 1/6th scale Jeep

I was looking thru Ebay and ran across this Hasbro 2002 Desert Patrol Jeep

For $44.95 with free shipping I could not pass on it, its only missing the

Steering wheel and the gas can and the shovel and ax, it's in nicer condition than my other

Hasbro Jeep I started making a RC out of , I could also trade it or sell it later on

Nice find. If you decide to get rid of the rims, I can provide a new home for them.

I have not worked on my 1st Hasbro Jeep in awhile, so today I cut the radiator out of the grill and added some screen that is tucked in tight, after I use a coat of Etching primer and some black paint I will glue the screen in with some Shoe Goo

Going to buy some Tan or Light Brown paint to touch up where I trimmed the radiator out, and going too look for some fabric screen at my local Walmart, cause they have a fabric section I might get lucky and find something

It's got airflow now into the engine compartment where the motor and tranny will mount

I'm going to take the gas can mount off the Desert Patrol Jeep and take measurements and trace it out on paper and see I can make a gas can mount out of sheet metal for my 1st Jeep

Also going to Home Depot and see if I can find some solid 10 gauge wire to make 2 new corner loops, that will match

It must be fate cause when I was looking for a replacement gas can for my 1st Jeep, I bought a Desert Patrol gas can and completely forgot about until I looked today and found the 2 cast ones that need cleaned up

I just bought another scale 2 1/8'' diameter 3 spoke steering wheel that matches the one in my 1st Jeep,

I got a M60 and a pedestal from my 1/6th scale M151 A2 Jeep Mutt that were used in the end of the Korean War and all thru Vietnam and were replace by the Humvee in the early 90's

So I'm not sure if a M60 would be scale correct in a 40's Willy's Military Jeep, is it scale correct ??

I do have replacements of the ax and shovel and can paint to match pictures online of either Jeep theme

I don't know the name of these guns or what caliber they are but I did find pics of them on the Desert Patrol Jeep and found one of a different style

If you want a little more Fire Power, you can not go wrong with the M134 Minigun Gatling Machine Gun

It would look bad ass mounted up on a pedestal sitting on the Jeep Cowl

Pretty sure the M60 came out in the Viet Nam War, Thompson's were used in '41 and the Korean War.

The twin guns were from the British, but I don't know the name or nomenclature, and they were used in '41 and the Korean War.

Hey Mike

I got 2 of these 1/6th scale Browning M1919 A4's 30 Cal machine guns, that would be the correct period and correct caliber for WW2, I know they did mount them in Jeeps, normally not on the cowl but on a pedestal behind the drivers and passenger seat

Need to wait and see if the 30 Cal will fit the hole in the cowl on the Desert Patrol Jeep, I'm thinking it will need to be raised up cause of the gas cans on the hood

I also got different sized 6th scale ammo boxes and some of them open up, that I can put in the back of the Desert Patrol Jeep, since there is no rear bench seat

At one time I wanted to make a ammo box mount that attached to the M60 mount

So it looked like it was feeding ammo from the ammo box, That's above my skill level

The M60 came out late 50's after Korea for testing and started production in 57 to current, So my 1/6th scale M151 A2 Jeep Mutt with a M60 would be also be the correct period for Vietnam

I got my Desert Jeep today and the extra gas can is a perfect match and got the steering wheel put on its needs to be painted black

Can now try and make another gas can mount for my 1st Jeep cause I have 2 cast gas cans, I can attach one to the gas can mount
