Default A couple 1/6 VW's I have been working on.

Thought I'd post up some pictures of two 1/6 VW buses I have been modifying. I got them both from a friend. The first one I did for him and in lieu of doing that one I got my own to modify. The last couple shots are of the chassis and power plant. First time I have seen 2.2 Swamper XL's look small!

Incredible. Love your 1/10 VW but the 1/6 are very very cool. Diggin the 2nd one for sure. The 2.2's and the axles look quit small for sure. Hopefully we get some running footage.

1/6 VW update:

I got some work done on the new "DUB" tonight. Started out by shortening the sliders down to 12.5" to match the bottom of the body. From there I moved onto hinging the rear of the body to the chassis. The four hexes around the license plate attach the body to the hinge. I'm probably going to make bumpers out of 5/16" steel rod but I wanted to make sure the stock one in the rear would hinge properly just in case. I could reinforce these bumpers buy filling them with resin, we shall see. The last shot is the beef from underneath!

They don't make them anymore, but if you search for "Herbie Fully Loaded Bus" they pop up for sale once in a while.

Looks like there's a few... "full price" models on ebay. I'll keep an eye out, thanks! Stoked to see where this build goes.
