another scx6 ram newbright build ☆ i came up with a name for this rig 8m not sure why but im calling it project highschool ☆ I picked up another 1/6 new bright body the plan is to make this one a performance first type of rig im gona run a 1/8 scale motor and a momba monster x i want to be able to crawl and hit 40-50 mph im gona run the steal alloy ar60 axles on a custom frame its gona have a forward mounted motor and im gona try to keep it as light as posable im gona start trimming the body down and build some light bumpers and some simple sliders and a role bar the batterys will mount on the sliders Thats the plan right now it might change in the year or 2 its gona take me to finnish building it anyway heres some pics as it sits now https://i.imgur.com/dS50b16l.jpg https://i.imgur.com/M4Yd7tCl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Bts4ZEal.jpg https://i.imgur.com/z3ouRKhl.jpg |

Re: another scx6 ram newbright build Thank you yo I think im gona rob the drive train from my wraith and convert the wraith to a 1.9 and use the ar60s on this rig i havent decided on a steel frame or some light weight plastic rails the metal frame would be easyenuff and i can weld right to it the plastic takes more work to attach stuff to it and not as.strong but its lighter easyer to work with and might be better for performance |

Re: another scx6 ram newbright build I got this thing together enuff to do some testing i ripped a old motor out of a crapsman drill its a 550 sized can motor the thing flamed on i blew the flame out and it still runs i have no idea why that happend oh well i ran it some more it seems fine ill just have to bring some water with me when i go out to run it lol the truck is still lighter than the wraith and with all the wait down low the its real stable the tire inserts are to stiff so i will have to tune them or run a differant set up im also gona add thicker oil to the shocks and install a sway bar i still need to make the rear bumper and sliders and clean everything up and install them that will add some weight and might help with the stiff tires im hoping to get some video this weekend i should have my work truck up and running also so maybe i can run them in the same video lol |

Re: another scx6 ram newbright build I pulled the orange knucles off and installed the blue ones they look much better now lol iteresting what alittle color dose to these rigs lol I picked up some realy nice looking bearings fo4 these knuckles the rubber seal is also blue lol i go5 a 10 pack from dms offroad for less than 2 plus shipping from fast E The ssd uses larger bearings than stock so i figured i needed a few |
Re: another scx6 ram newbright build Alittle update i still havent got my mmx fixed so untill then i picked up a 775 can motor and im running a cheap chineese esc for now i left the motor on the skid and mounted the battery way up front i still need sliders and sway bars but i can run it so those items are on the back burner for now |

Re: another scx6 ram newbright build I decided to build a 2wd street truch with hydrolics lol i started the mock up im using a standered scx10 frame and ether a center carier bearing or a tcase to get some gearing reduction i ordered a 775 brushed motor with no transmission the motor output is 5mm so thats gona work out great and its gona run a scx10ii rear axle unless i decide to run a bigger axle in the work truck and steal that axle for this project but i like the scale look of the v2 axles better so ill wait and see were it goes i started fabing up the front end being a street rig its not gona be all beefy just simple basicly a highbread of subaru and honda design i will be able to convert to 4wd if i want to later but for now its just a 2wd i will get some pics later today |

Re: another scx6 ram newbright build The tire is hitting the body at full drop so i wont be able to turn i can narrow it up a bit but that still wont leave much steering and the narrower it gets the funnier its gona look i was thinking about something along the lines of the grashopper style front arms or a.ford twin i beam that way when i tuck the tires the tops will lean in alowing for more stearing but will hurt the performance alot im not sure what direction i want to go from here maybe ill just build it both ways and see what one i like better i can alway build another one if i like both lol and im also not sure if i want to go with scx10 1 axle or scx10 2 axleit only matters if i go 4wd or not the front end right now should work with 4wd also i just need to flip a bracket and install the other half of the gear box and add the front drive shaft to make it 4wd and move the shock mount lol most likly though its just going to be 2wd but i like having the option |
