No, The Chair' is patiently waiting for its power plant to be built and delivered... Still have not heard ANYTHING on when it will be. For now, there will be a build on Brushless Super Steer linked here soon! GWS 2215, Mamba 25, and a 2S lipo for power.

Have you figured out how to stop the steering, or are you just gonna keep an eye on it and stop when it bottoms out? I will give Lucien a call today and see how far out the proto is for your motor. |

I tried messing with the little motor and though I can get it to stop rotation. By disconnecting one of the wires. I can't get it to startup the reverse while locking out any further movement that way. The only way I could figure on doing it electronically was to have limit switches swap two of the wires, causing the motor to reverse. I don't know if a mamba could handle that much load. Disconnecting a wire off the motor at load would cause a spike in the controller wouldn't it?

swapping two wires while the motor is running would wreak havok on the controller. It would interrupt the commutation sequence and probably blow up the motor as well as the controller. I say building it strong enough to stall the motor is the best bet. You cant hurt anything by stalling the motor, other than the gears and steering. I am really looking forward to seeing this. I have had this idea for a long time now, and wonder just how powerful it will be. Is it gonna be rack and pinion style or just a servo horn on the output shaft? |

The total worm gear reduction is 242 to one. Then, the final screw drive is three revs per inch. Its is going to be insanely powerful I am thinking.... I need to build front steering knuckles out of aluminum that will accept the MAXX RPM size bearings. More soon! |

| The Best things come to those who wait. I have decided to ditch the GP3300 cells. 12 GP3300 weigh almost one and a half pounds. While waiting on a motor to be designed and built, I have been stocking up on items for a whole new power system. I have decided to go A123. 4S 13.2v 2300Mah. 120A, 10 sec pulse discharge. One Cell Per corner mounted on the axle tubes. The A123 cells will not only give the motor what it wants, But the conversion to A123 cells will save 16oz. off the power system. ...And with a 10 amp 15 minute charge time, I can dig it! I believe when I am finished, The 'Chair will be like no other. |

Finding a power supply for your charger is gonna be the task! You will need about 20 amps @ 12 volts or 16 amps @ 15 volts to feed those cells 10 amps on a charge. A car battery might be a good choice.

| The rod ends are Solid, But I need metal spacers, I only have nylon in there now and after a few good rolls they loosen a little. I manage to snap on of the Grade 8 links, But I hear Fasten-all can get me grade 10 I am also going to try a set of Grade 10 Bolts in my rear Cutbrake Axle. I learned alot from the grade 8's and I think I know how to make it all bullet proof. Rear Links are not setup yet, I am waiting for the grade 10 hardware. Soon as theres new's on it, It will be posted. Things have been slow goin being as how I can't find a guy respectable enough to work for. D and I have BOTH been getting the run around from people who say one thing and do another. Its sad that decent human beings are so few and far between. Going to be missing you this weekend man, Better get Slim goin soon! The WC is going to be tryin to follow it around! Also, I wanna check out what skills you been teaching your son on crawlin! |

You could add some travel limit switches to the steering that turn on a light or something, so you dont overstress anything? Cheesy but effective. Whats the deal on these a123 batteries? Will any Li-ion charger charge them or does the charger have to have an m1 mode. Last edited by HndsWthtShdws; 07-28-2007 at 07:29 PM. |

I thought of that too but I want to be able to hand our almost 2 year old the remote and not have to worry. The A123 Batteries require a special charger... I don't know if you could mod a Dewalt charger for a smaller pack...
