Default My 1/6 GI Joe Willys RC conversion

Always wanted one, finally pulled the trigger.

Started with:
2001 GI Joe Willys
Redcat Everest 10

Started chopping up the Redcat and Willys.

Test fitting....So. Much. Test. Fitting. Throughout this entire build. Lol.

Let there be light and XL Swampers

Mailman brings me goodies, cage sliders and bumper welded by MattZilla for RCPCrawlers. Yay.

More test fitting...

Paint! Lots of painting!

Upgrades!

Easier to just explain its now current state of upgrades than to list a million pictures. Lol.

Upgrades:
HR trans case.
HR trans gears.
Integy steel spur and aluminum mount
Redcat aluminum skid
Holmes Pro Puller.
Junfac driveshafts.
Sealed bearings everywhere.
Club5racing steel links w/trx ends.
Redcat axle trusses/upper link mounts.
Savox wp servo
HR rear lockouts
HR c hubs
HR knuckles
Redcat cva’s
Redcat aluminum lockers
Boom racing 20mm wheel spacers
2.2 Proline Swampers w/Injora beadlocks.
Upgraded all hardware.

How it sits for now:

What’s in the mail:
HR skid
HR brass axle tubes
HR servo horn
HR motor plate
RRP pinion
Injora shock mounts.

She crawls amazing, hauls ass and looks great! Will update more once I’m able to finish it and take it out.

Thanks!
Yeah I’m sure it’s a little hard on it, but I won’t be in the throttle much anyways. Just has that extra hmph now that brushed doesn’t; for bigger obstacles, etc. I’ll still be babying it haha

Great job! It's always nice to see another 1/6th Willys getting put together and out running on the trails.

Few more goodies to top it off:
CI foams, medium firmness.
Heavier brass to keep her down better and I’ll also be using scale diamond plate for rear corners.

Modified universal shock mounts. Figured 4 screws is better than one on such a heavy rig.
