| My first build....Started on the stinger
I have one of those new bright jeep bodies(1/6). I have a set of clod axles, and a set of txt's as well. I dont have a tranny for the txt so they will get used for something else. The clods are stock, with stock motors. Made up a frame out of alum angle, and some other stuff. I started to make up some links but broke my tap, so Im off to lowes later today. I may redo the frame. I may weld up a box beam frame. Im goint to cut off the flares, and comp cut the rear. My buil up some tube fenders. I think I will add them to the fram, hack off the fenders on it now, and the body would set on the tubies? any ideas? This is my first build. I got my idea from someone else on here. But I dont want to make it the same, thats way im going to comp cut and tube it out. I have never done a hobby grade rc before, so I have been lerking around watching other builds to try to learn alittle about it. Im cheep to If I could build a part I will. I was going to build up like my jeep, but I think I will build it up to what I want my jeep to look like. hehe Sorry about the grammer and spellin, I just got off a 12 hour shift This is my real jeep. This is the frame i cobbled up This is the axle with the top link mount I made out of a bar of alum and a dremal. There is a steer lock out peice I cut out with a drimal out of a peice of steel Any input would be great. Thanks for looking, I will post more as I go. | My first build.....Getting closer
I think I have it the way I want it. I still have one more shock hoop to braze on, then grind down all the braze. then start to work one the body stuff and cage. What do you guys think? |

Got a little more done on it. Got the stinger and grill gaurd started. Got one of the rocker guards and the side of the tube fender brazed on. I need to make one brace for the tube fender for the front of it and tie it to the frame, then i'll get the top of it cut and brazed. same with the front, I need to put some braces on it too. Looking good but you really should wear shoes in the shop. Someday I tell ya the story about welding in flipflops... still got a sweet scar to remember it by. Hell, not to mention the risks of toe loss... |

tube fenders are done. now its time for the paint, wire everything up, and workout the kinks on the steering. I think I need a stonger servo. Let me know what you think. |
