Default Big boys and their sandbox toys.

Started out as a sandbox toy brought over from Europe a few years back. I will initially leave it as is " a bit cartoonish" until its drivable. After a good test run i will add scale to make it look less cartoonish.

A little background on this body. Made in the Czech republic, from a old mold that was found by a guy or something like that. Available in two sizes. 1/6, and smaller.

Mine's the big one and fits wraith axles well.
Chinese tires on some old RC4WD 2.2 steel wheels and 4 more enroute.

Frame will most likely be 1/2, or 3/4 flat bar. Its also a 6x6 so im not sure what i want to do as far as the bed goes. I have an 8x8 up my sleve with a large scale body like this one, in the MAN variety i want to flat bed. Maybe I'll make this Tatra a trials truck

Meanwhile, the body is attached to the frame with zero mechanical fasteners. Neat if you ask me. The head lights I've planned should fit right in the bezel. Body wont need a rollcage since its so flexible and heavy duty.

I like it! Been thinking about an AR60 6x6 myself, just haven't got off the ground. Looking forward to seeing this come together!

So after further investigation the frame and axles I am using, are nothing like the real deal. The 1:1 uses the full backbone with independent swing axle shafts contraption. Maybe in the future. But here's where im at. Thinking of FA-MA wheelbase being at about 16", then from MA-RA its 6". I picked up another piece of the 3/4 inch flat stock.

So I went ahead and pulled out the old trusty wheelbase jig i made eons ago. 1/10 one side, 1/8-1/6 the other side.

Surfing the web for rear suspension designs I decided to go with "i have no idea what its called" design. I had enough ar60 upper link mounts, but with the way i want the middle axle mounted a normal one wouldn't work.

First stop Thingiverse, no luck finding an ar60 upper link mount. Back to Google, this time i search for: wraith 6x6 and about half way down the page I see an upper link mount on Thingiverse. Ok. Files looked good in the 3d viewer thingie. First two prints had such bad edge lift, 1/4 inch in the really thin area, I went ahead and printed on a raft. Print came out ok, but one hole did not line up by ~2mm. Dremmel to the rescue.

Also cleaned up the back of the body and removed the center "axle".

Once you insert a pic, just click/tap below the pic you just inserted and you can type there instead!

What do you use for the pictures? Iím tired of having a monthly limit on Tapatalk.

Cut the frame to length. Og emaxx trans with new style slipper, revo/jato shocks, Og emaxx driveshafts. That's where I'm at right now.

Cut one side of the motor plate off for frame rail clearance, and was able to sort out driveshafts

Kind of stuck at this point. I ordered some trx4 link/rod ends a few days ago, but here I am.

The other 4 tires came in and are super sticky/stinky. Stickier than the original ones, but they reek horribly. I even thought i had an electrical fire! Mounted well on some very old wheels and kicked them out of the garage.

Also cut crossbraces to length but now I'm also stuck with the rest of the frame as i want to build it a certain way. Uncertain if it will work out though
