Ok hoping this is the right place to ask. Building a true to scale 1/8 rig with printed Tacoma hard body (body came today). Freaking thing is big lol. Frame matters I figure I can sort out (may have to make custom rails) but trying to sort out axles a bit wider than the normal scale rig axles like SCX or Element. Portals would be best option but not a needed option. Just trying not to run spacers because this rig will be rather heavy and is going to get used and abused. My element axles with 8mm spacer hex still keep 1.9x 4.75 inside the fender wells. Thanks. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk Last edited by tigris99; 05-25-2022 at 07:26 PM. |

the redcat gen8 is a 1/8th scale rig the capra axles are a bit wider than the gen8 axles i have a set of trx4 axles under a 1/8 scale body ar44s or ar45s straight axles with the xr mod would be about the same as the capras ar60s would be a bit wide and no portals same with the redcat 247 axles rift axles are a bit wider than the ar60s as for the chassie i would use 2 trx4 chassies but you might be able to use the trx6 rails with no cutting or welding |

Awesome thanks for the info. Especially the frame rails, didn't even think about those, actually have to cut them shorter but that's WAY EASIER than fabing a custom frame. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk |

most rigs these days are really 1/8th scale anyway even though there sold as 1/10th scale

Ya true. My knightrunner though is 1/10 wheelbase dead on, but almost 1/8 wide. But with the narrow ass frames and small axles I don't want to try and widen to give the offroad tire spacing (partially outside fenders) on a build that's gonna be a heavy one. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk |

That might not be a bad base either to work from for this build. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk |
