Default Scx6 honcho - can’t by main lexan shell alone?

I wanted to experiment with painting my honcho custom, but it looking like you can’t just get the main front shell by itself. You have to buy $160 full body kit from what I’m finding. I’d blow 60 or 70 bucks To play around with, but I’m still trying to Come to grips with how much I paid for the whole thing initially… So $160 is a bit much at this point.

Anyone seen the shell only for sale anywhere? Or have any other ideas? I want to keep the primary look, just make the paint more realistic.

considering the cost of larger scale bodys these days its a good deal at 160
my nylint jeep body goes for around $300 last i looked for 1
and any newbright with a full interior is closer to $400
even broken or incomplete there still exspensive

Yeah it seems reasonable priced, I just don't need those parts. They do sell just the cab outer lexan for the 1/10 scale honcho for only $40 so I was hoping to find the same for the bigun'.

Nope, its only sold with the interior.

You could paint the exterior though its likely to take a beating with how heavy this thing is.

I priced out the all the honcho body parts and it was like $360. I guess I'll stick with my Jerp for now lol

Yeah I might try just painting the stock one on the outside. It's definitely going to be beat up and scratched - wanted to do the metallic and rust color inside to make scratches look cool... but it's the tan body, and if I'm looking for a darker flat color, it would probably still look pretty decent. I like the worn in look... but not going to do the full rust and salt stuff.

In case you missed me spamming my other questions in the bodies forum with pics, I think it turned out pretty good… definitely happy with the improvement. Probably better than if I had gotten a clear body to start with lol. Just painting the exterior of the tan rtr
with the flat clear Tamaya PS55. Will have to see how it holds up.
