SCX6 Trail Honcho Christmas 2022

1 Attachment(s)
So apparently, my wonderful wife does listen to me :lmao:

I had a Tan SCX6 under the tree today. It was unexpected, so I was not really set up in the battery scene for it.

I’m not going to lie, this freaking thing is pretty awesome.

My sons new FCX24 Smasher up on top of the SCX6

And so now it begins…

Yep, Congrats on the rig and I hope you at least got her something nice... not like the Christmas my wife got me a guitar and I got her a friggin squirrel shaped cereal bowl. In my defense though, she said not to do anything extravagant.

Nice bowl :lmao:

Yes, my wife was spoiled as well. She got a nice, new box for the back of her 4-wheeler, a new tool set, a super soft blanket (these are one of her obsessions…) and a bunch of other stuff

Re: SCX6 and my wonderful wife

Thanks everyone, I am surely loving it!

I have ordered a few pieces for it.
A new servo, for when the stock one goes out.
ProLine Swanpers, because I like them.
3Brothers Anti-Foams.

Driving around a little bit, I really like it and it is a completely different driving experience.
I really do dislike the front body clips and am trying to find a magnet mount for it.

Re: SCX6 and my wonderful wife

I dont know if this will make the front clips any better but trimming the inner fenders back about 1/8" really helps when puting the body on. My rock sliders also came set too narrow in the rear so I moved them out a bit, that also made putting the body on easier.

Thanks Humboldt, I'll take a look at that when I am home next. "thumbsup"

Edit - How are you guys holding up with the most recent earthquake and weather system that was suppose to come through?

Well I'm a dummy, I already forgot you have the Honcho body not the Jeep lol. I'm not sure if trimming the inner fenders and adjusting the sliders is needed on that one.

That earthquake was one of the scarier ones I've experienced, it lasted pretty long for a quake. Everyone I know was pretty lucky and just had a few things fall off the wall at most but others werent so lucky. Hundreds of older buildings have been condemed I believe. I had a 8' tall shelving unit fall over so I had a pile of RCs lol, but they're used to roll overs. I always knew it should have been secured to the wall, well now it is.

The storms havent been too bad. Its mostly downed trees and power outages but it hasnt been too disruptive for me.

Glad to hear there was not too much damage for you guys.

Honestly, I developed PTSD from the 7.1 we had back in November 2018. Living here all my life, I have been through a lot of quakes and didn't think
much of them. Worst case, I would "wow, that was a god one" that one", but the 2018 quake (and aftershocks for weeks) messed me up...

I can relate 7.1 is no joke. Usually I dont run for safety (doorway, is that still a thing?) like I should but maybe I will now. That quake was at 2 AM and I wasnt able to get back to sleep until 5.

We have the triple junction here where 3 fault lines converge, its great :flipoff:

That was one of the major good things about my parents deciding we needed to move to the midwest (I'm originally from LA area) when I was a kid. Nothing like trying to learn to skateboard when the Northridge quake hit..... ya I haven't been on a skateboard since.

I couldn't imagine being up where you are....

So, I have been waiting for over six weeks on some ProLine Swampers from Horizon. They were on backorder when I ordered them, but was told it would only be about two weeks. That two weeks turned into the third week of December and now mid to late January...

I finally got fed up and found some in stock on EvilBay. I ordered them yesterday and they shipped today.
Needless to say, I canceled the order from Horizon.

I also ordered some inexpensive 2.9 wheels from EvilBay.

Attachment 402066

I also ordered a set of the RC4WD Universal Hex Adapters that I can put on my 40 Series Mickey Thompson MTZ's and Steel Wheels that I have for another project that has 14mm hexes. This is one of those "just for fun" options. It'll be fun to just see what they look like :lmao:

Re: SCX6 Trail Honcho Christmas 2022

I like those el-cheapo wheels! bonus points for 6 lug on a tacoma :)

Being from east coast I have lived through exactly 1 earthquake that I even felt anything. By your standards it was nothing at 2.2mag but I was on the 2nd floor of this 1890's-1900's house that was getting a ton of construction work done and when I felt it sway I thought it was the house getting ready to fall over or something.
