Thumbs up

Awesome build! I like the way you put the mp3 in the dash.
How have those axles held up for you ? I ve got an lst2 that I'm thinking of salvaging for a future project and maybe doing a similar styled setup.

Thanks.
Axles are great !
no problem for crawling.
lots of threads about using them on RCmonster.com
my name there is speed assault.

I use The same center diff (Losi after shock) or LST ) in my Custom made 1/5 4WD 6s lipo On road car, the power has been so insane I have had to dial it Down in the ESC several times because it fly's off the ground and from a dead stop it jumps straight up ! a car at 3 feet and 11 lbs. Have ripped open broke Revo axle shafts, stub shafts.

Yes keep em.

I thought you were going to use 6'' tires for this?

Anyways I still like the truck, I'm glad to see you keeping it alive.

hey thanks .
Going to add lights, rock lights some time, be cool to have winch. yet still going to get those custom rock rings.
You think of anything else to add ?

Tires, yea I'm on the fence right now. I bought 6 TSL's n plan to cut them and make them bigger which I still want but right now I'm going to see how this crawls. wouln't be able to scale comp in the scaler club if bigger but this thing is for the fun. Anyways going to build a 85 Toyota 4Runner scaler some day for scale comps.

Back to Rock Buggy:
Like to do a scale equivalent of a 44" so like a ,(looked it up) oops looks like they are scale of 42" tire.
well maybe up them to 5 3/4".

New panels.
For some peculiar reason, I keep thinking of mounting the shocks vertically and incorporating a panhard mount.

Shocks vertically, ? as in completely straight up/down ?
not sure how a panhard would help here ?

ah yes it is in need of some cool brighter panels. I had been thinking of some nice airbrushed realistic flames maybe in Blue or natural .
Or like my berg , but that doesn't match my hood to well
What do you say ?

I maybe seeing things, it seems the truck sits rather high from the front.
The whole point is to lower the trucks CG, and if you add the larger tires it will be low and slung.

Here's where I got the idea the from.
Greasy´s RF-One Chassis

IMHO I like the second one, it's more colorful.

Cool thanks.
Nice Crawler Rig !
some cool custom stuff on there, I like it
like to read your build thread,

I have done a lot to lower the CG, the Axle housings are made of 3/16 stainless tubes, Lipo under the hood.
It site level

Here it is with 40's.
I am in the middle of narrowing the axles and shortening the wheel base

What do ya think !?

Front axle not complete, just mocked up
Axles narrowed
got some cool shocks from a rckjeep, looks like XTM , they are 4.6" so more travel than big bores
Wheel track is 12" wish it was less
WB is 16" a bit long but the Skid is long and there are things in the way to move links further

Shocks look Killer ! cant wait to get some painted panels with nice airbrush flames.

Dream to reality moment

Bought a Milling machine that I have wanted for 17 years now.
Took my first try at machining rock rings that I saw back in 1998 at a We Rock rock crawling competition and thought they were the greatest thing.
I am fairly happy with them. I found a guy on ebay that cut the round rings on a water jet for a set of 6 for 4" and a set 6 for 2.2 size. I will be machining the 2.2 sized ones as well. As for the 40 series rock rings I don't think I will be using them since I have gone down to 2.2 TSL's.

I have the hopes of finding a 2 3/4" or 3" wheel to make a large TSL SX tire but have not found the right wheel.

I need another custom size of aluminum rings made, just plain rings so let me know if you can make me some ??

Thanks.

What do you do with your old project crawler?

My berg is more fun so this crawler sits

Should I part it out?
