Talking 1:6 TXT w/ Eztec Jeep Body (BEWARE PICS!)

I picked up one of those Eztec Jeep Cherokee trucks from Amazon.com last week and it arrived yesterday. For $30.65 shipped, how can ya beat that. The box was as long as my 42" plasma. I was so excited! Opened it up and tried it out, BOY it had no guts what-so-ever. Now I know why it was on sale for $30 bucks. I put my 6yr olds sock in front of it and it couldn't even crawl over it! Under powered motor, lousy steering, annoying engine sound. But who cares, all I really wanted was the body. So I decided to pull the body off the chassis and see how it looked on my TXT.

Pretty sweet! I just need to do little trimming, to lower the body and figure out were to mount everything again. But I think it's going to turn out really good. The WB looks to be just right I may need to lengthen the rear a little. I'll keep posting pics as I go.

Hopefully I'll get to work on it more this weekend.

Awesome deal ;) , to bad they jacked up the price , i think they are very nicely detailed bodies and a full interior to boot + a car alarm

Well I got the body mounted and the center cut out to make room for the battery, and all the other electronics. I had to move the shocks and put a huge spacer on them at the moment. It turned out really really nice, but I'm going to have to cut the center out more to lower the body another inch. It just sits to high. Here's a few more pics and a small video:

Lastly, should I mount the bumper it came with or leave it off? I can't decide.

trim the bumper to fit, it really should be lowered though. you should ditch the TXT frame and build a new scale frame to fit within the plastic chassis of the jeep. that would be beautiful.

yeh pics?!

I have one of these sitting in my basement. Haven't even opened it yet. Those TXT axles look REALLY narrow under that big body and those big wheels!!

Sorry everyone. I found a new site to run my pede's at and haven't been doing that much crawling lately. In fact the truck got buried underneath a furniture pad in my garage and when I say it today, I remembered I should get more pics. I lowered the body even more and had to cut out even more on the interior, but I think it looks ok. I want to go lower but then it starts to rub on the inner fenderwells. I was also having a problem with the leaning and weight of the body itself, but I took care of that by using the original plastic bumper/shock mounting brackets. I put 90wt. oil in the t-maxx ms4 piggybacks and just enough preload. These worked perfect. I also set it up as 40/60 with the links to keep more weight in the front. The width is perfect, especially when you look down or behind it and all you see is these huge @ss tires sticking out.

It runs great with the Crawlmaster and Mamba Max setup and a 11.1V 4000mah lipo from Holmes. I was using 7.4V 6000mah lipo from Maxamps but there wasn't enough punch, and I would stall out on little things. Now it crawls over pretty much everything, but I don't crawl over really big stuff because the body doesn't give like lexan. LMK what you think.

So here they are:

Looks good! Got any flex shots? I'm curious to see how much flex you have until there is rubbing.

Mines still sitting in the box under my workbench. To many darn projects!

I like that I can finally see someone else's take on one of these trucks..

The tires make it look funny. No offense.. But it would look alot better with tires that weren't so wide.

Also, it looks a TON better with 'tinted' windows..

Great build!

You can still get them at Amazon, although they are $99.99 now.

Now I feel bad and will probably get flamed for throwing the body away when I sold my TXT. The guy didn't want it and it was so darn big. i just tossed it in the trash a few weeks ago.
