1:6 CXT Build

This is my first build in a long time. I am on a budget so no high end parts for now. The frame and suspension links will be made from Carbon Fiber. The colors I have are Black,Red,Blue,Silver and Yellow I don't know which one I will use. The truck is to big for Rock crawling so it will be a little Rock crawling and truck pulling like tractor pulling with a sled. The parts list is small but its a start.

I will use one of these Carbon Fiber color's for the frame and suspension links.

Can't wait to see how this goes. But if you really want it to be a crawler then it is very possible. It all depends on how capable you want it to be.

JJR 07-30-2007 09:42 PM

I am open to any suggestion. The frame will be more to scale like the Bruiser. I am going to start making the flat sheet of Red Carbon Fiber. The sheet will 3-ft. x 2ft. and 1/4-in. think, that way there will be enough to make the suspension links.

WKCrawler 07-31-2007 01:52 PM

Whered you get that truck from? I wanted to buy one for my little cousin since we saw a 1:1 version of that the other day and he got so excited..

I checked e-bay and a few online stores and couldnt seem to find it..

Thanks!

P.S. Looks like its going to be a good build!

Mikekx65 07-31-2007 02:36 PM

Take a look at the k2 chassis those are scale chassis but you would have to make your own. Since there only like 12" and 16" or you can make a simple ladder chassis. do you want it to be a crawler, trail truck,or a puller? it all depends on what you want the truck to do. that will determine on how you should build the chassis.

wolfhunter 07-31-2007 02:36 PM

I've seen them at walmart

JJR 07-31-2007 04:04 PM

I found them out her in California at a swapmeet.

JJR 07-31-2007 10:36 PM

X2 how did those x-fac ball ends work out for you? I can't wait to see it!

JJR 08-04-2007 11:32 AM

They worked great Thanks.

mississippirocs 08-04-2007 07:13 PM

As big as that truck is and with the size of the tires, have you thought about using a droop type suspension so that your COG and ride height would be lower. I cant wait to see this thing finished with all the carbon fiber details.

JJR 08-05-2007 02:09 PM

I want to build it some what to scale, but if when I cycle the suspension I find that it needs a sub frame I will. Keep in mind I would like to do some Rock Crawling with it and truck pulling with a sled which is my next project.

ALUMOUT 08-05-2007 04:40 PM

Thats huge!!! looks great cant wait to c it done:lol:

i dont think a 645 and servo saver are gonna be very good at turning those tires. but good lukc with the build, a droop suspesnion would be awesome.

JJR 08-20-2007 11:11 AM

I looked around to see what every one is running. I found almost half of the people using the HS 5645 MG and this servo saver with big tire. The info I got was from the sticky in the Clod section. Is this info out of date?

JJR 08-20-2007 06:25 PM

I got my motors in today. Integy 65T single.

Mikekx65 08-20-2007 06:33 PM

Awesome, hey BTW did you ever get that body from bronco?

JJR 08-20-2007 06:36 PM

I got the cab but no bed.

Mikekx65 08-20-2007 06:49 PM

Were you expecting the bed too? Im just wondering because eric is a good friend of mine and usually isnt like this.

JJR 08-20-2007 07:04 PM

I asked him for it. I figured when he said Body for sale that included the Cab and Bed. Why would I just want the Cab. The Bed is what I wanted the most so I can make a mold of it and make it longer.

Mikekx65 08-20-2007 07:14 PM

Alright man ill talk to him a little later and find whats the deal. Eric is usually pretty good about holding up his end of the deal.

JJR 08-20-2007 07:19 PM

Thanks man I know He is a good Kid I know he will come through.

Bronco 08-21-2007 05:49 AM

madhatter 08-26-2007 11:01 AM

Maybe not considering the diameter of the tires.
