Thanks John. Does anyone know where I can get a 1:6 scale bench seat for the back of this thing? I'm also taking votes as to which trannies I should use together. I think a stealth would be the best tcase for it, but what should attach the motors to and run to the stealth? Thanks... |

Get something with a slipper, and maybe even a two speed. You have so much room under that hood that an emaxx tranny might work. You could also use another stealth or a twin force tranny. Hell, even a stampede gearbox would work well. As for the bench seat, did your model not have one? Why not fab one up from some tube and sheet metal? |

So I would just run the gear reduction alone with the motor? Not into another tranny? That thing doesnt look terribly mount friendly, but Im sure we can figure it out. From there I would mate it to a tranny- I think the stealth looks the best size wise, but will it be strong enough and would it give me good gearing? Anyone with good math skills able to figure out what ratio that would give me? I am going to be running an outrunner motor more than likely. What pinion should I be running if I use these trannies? Thanks for the help guys, I appreciate it. j |

Why not go with a E-Maxx, then you have 2 speeds. You could get some alloy gears + alloy spur from Integy and you'd be pretty much set I reckon. Or, not sure how hardy the new F350 Tranny is ? Or even a big rig trans would be cool if your up for spending a little more. I haven't use either of those two though, anyone know if they would be up to it ? |

| sheldon used a gd-600 mated to a associated gt2 tranny, i think of all the stealth based trannies, this particular one has the lowest reduction. i believe its above 3:1.

But if I put a low reduction in that tranny, along with a GD600 will that put me too low? I need some math gurus to help me out... j |

With a GD, gt tranny, and diff reduction you would only get about 25:1 reduction unless you used the spur and pinion reduction on the gt tranny too. I have seen it done before with a carrier bearing and plate where the motor would normally mount up. I would recommend about 65:1 or more reduction. |

Forget using trannies I have had the thought of Just useing a reduction unit like they use on Rc truck pullers or the GD600 and you could double them up Or you could use One Motor and reduction unit for Front drive shaft/axle and another for the rear, that way you have a dig set up front and rear like this I HAVE TO HAVE THOSE RIMS ! What size are they, hex size and where to get them thanks Great build Last edited by toy4crawlin; 10-08-2007 at 11:30 AM. |

That wouldn't be enough reduction. He needs more than 6.6:1 final reduction.

On a heavy hog like this I'd be suspicious of the fine-pitch gears inside the Stealth or electro-Pede boxes. A Maxx tranny has nice beefy gears, and you can use a Nitro Pede box for a transfer case. There's a bit more reduction in the nitro box anyway, and you'll want that for those tall tires. GD600-> Maxx-> Nitro Pede should do it. Just put another layer of epoxy on your CF seat; once it's dry I'll start filling it in. I don't suppose you want the CF painted? Last edited by microgoat; 10-14-2007 at 02:50 PM. Reason: piccy-poo |

I got to see this thing in person yesterday when I dropped off the TXT axles for it. And the pictures just do not do the size of this thing justice. Its huge! Looking at the license plates in the background of a few pics helps give you a idea of the size.
