A simple fix...slightly sand, file, grand (your choice) the flange on the axle shaft until they fit through the BeefTubes.

I wanted to post up my results with these shafts. I have had them in my C2 rig for 3 comps now. Last comp the rig took two of the worse tumbles it ever has. Happy to report that the shafts held up great and run true as an arrow.

Thanks for another great product Patrick.

Edit : I should mention these were proto's, Patrick can confirm if they are the same as the production models.

I installed my FI spools just after it came out and I had to do a bit of grinding on the axleshafts for them to fit properly. I plan on buying OT shafts and a new FI spool for the rear axle (I was one of the first to install the FI spools and I didn't do enough grinding on the rear axleshafts so the axle shafts where hammered in firmly in the FI spool and to this day I haven't been able to remove them ). Will the OT shafts be a direct fit in my "new" FI spool or will I have to do some grinding?

PS: Not to hijack this thread but the FI spools are simply amazing, I can't wait to get the OT shafts on my rig

Edit: Thanks a bunch to Jslick who helped me a ton with the FI spool install

The current batch of OT Shafts should slide right into to your new FI spool.

Next run will probably see the tolerance get a little tighter. I feel like the current batch is too easy and I want yall to have to work for it.

I don't have an ETA on version 3.

We actually have lots of these in stock so it will just depend on when we run out of version 1 & 2.

Speaking of, version 2 will be available before too long. It's a slightly different design so we will see what yall prefer.

Version 2 now available!

Locked Up RC is happy to announce our second solution for those that are looking for a stronger, reasonably priced, replacement rear axle shaft for their AX10/SCX10.... our OT 2 Shafts. These shafts replace Axial part# AX30424 (axi0424)

Our OT 2 shafts are made of 1541H steel and offer a torsional tensile strength rating of over 160in/lbs. That is roughly 33% more than a typical stock shaft, which suffers complete destruction in the 120in/lb range. OT 2 Shafts also offer a higher yield strength while still retaining a good yield point and are a great supplement to our FI Spools.

We wanted to make these beefy everywhere so they will be a "tight" fit on stock SCX10 (narrow Axial) wheel hexes. They "should" slide right through a standard Axial Hex. If your shafts do not slide in we suggest lightly filing the inner part of your hex to get them through. A rat tail file or coiled sandpaper will do the trick. It is a tight fit but just barely.

With that beef comes less machine time and so they are a hair cheaper than our standard OT shafts! That beef also mean there is less torsional flex in them. Suffice to say when you hit the gas, these move out!!

Compared to our "Standard OT" version and an Axial standard straight axle:

No animals were harmed in the making of this product...

Replacements for Axial SCX10 . AX10 steel straight axle 6x104.5mm (2)

Every now and then someone says something like that and I decide to google image search it... "clown wheels"

I know that is NOT what you meant but still funny.

Any chance you can make these a bit longer for guys that want to run Wraith lockouts to match the extra front width when doing the XR10 mod?
