Me Too! I also ordered the Ascender Blazer body mounts. It's nice to have some options no matter what rig you're running. Thanks LURC!

LURC,
I have posted the link to your TRX4/K5 mounts in response to a number of posters on the TRX4 facebook pages but if I could offer a suggestion. You might consider selling both the front and rear parts as a set OR make it much more obvious that you need to order both parts. I just posted the link to a facebook poster and he just ordered the rear post and did not see the note that he needed the front mount as well. Just sayin, Thanks.

Thanks for the tip.
And thanks for sharing them!

Because of the orientation it is difficult to have them print as one part and come out cleanly, but I will see what I can do.

It is noted twice in each product that you need the other. I'll see if I can make the font red and bold.

I "think" I have a solution coming.

Will order it and make sure it comes out the way I want before offering it for sale though.

Thanks for the constructive feedback!

Update, I received both my LURC shapeway parts. The 11.5H and 0V bumper mount places my front bumper exactly where I wanted it vertically. I also received the Ascender K5 Blazer mounts and as expected they position the K5 body perfectly on the TRX4 chassis .

Thanks again LURC!

I just wanted to follow up and show a before and after of my zero vertical offset front bumper mount. Lowered the bumper approximately 1/8".

Before with stock front bumper mount inverted:

After with LURC zero vertical offset bumper mount:

Thanks again LURC!

This is how my zero offset trx4 bumper mount ended up. No big crash or something like that. Rollover at low speed at most. It is from Shapeways and it is made from hard and brittle material as far as I can tell. And that is the problem, it holds bumper and bumper tends sometimes "bump" into something. So mount should withstand some stress. It needs to be strong and flexible material. Do not take me wrong mount is perfect design, zero offset is exactly what I need. But different material needs to be used. BowHouseRC use nylon reinforced with carbon fibers for inhouse prints, looks much better. I am really disappointed with this material used by shapeways. It may be good for scale parts (door handles, windscreen wiper) but not for "performance" part.

Hi Marek,
Sorry you had an issue.

I responded to you on shapeways and added the professional plastic as requested.

The material you ordered is what Shapeways recommends for RC chassis parts but we would like to see what happened so that we can improve our designs.

we can't see the pictures on here, can you email them to us directly?

Thanks,
Patrick

Hi Patrick, you should see images now. Professional plastic was recommended for this part by shapeways support to me. Even in material description https://www.shapeways.com/materials/...sional-plastic it says "RC car parts and mounts".
Maybe the problem in my case is that I am using all metal SSD bumper, even bumper rails that slides into plastic bumper mount are metal PARTS FOR TRX-4Rock Shield Winch Bumper for TRX-4 / SCX10 II . So bumper mount is weakest link in this chain. Thank you for adding professional plastic, though its pricier I hope it will be up to the task. Other solution would be attach plastic rails to bumper, that would not put that much stress onto bumper mount itself.

Also perfect service from shapeways customer support, they gave me store credit for broken part and postage fee. I already ordered mount made from professional plastic.
Thank you for your help and quick response.

I'm still unable to see the photos.
Can you please email them to me?

It's interesting because the old materials hub on Shapeways had different verbiage and the strong and flexible was recommended for rc parts.

They still list the strong and versatile plastic under the strength column and both are detailed as "Nylon plastic".

That professional plastic was added back in May (I think) but from I'm readying they may have changed the strong and flexible as well.

I'll make sure we go through and add the professional as an option for all our parts either way.

thanks for the heads up!

Glad you got it worked out with Shapeways.
I already got all the products that are in any way structural updated with the professional as a choice.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

I thought it was just my mistake when I broke one of my Zero-V mounts so I never mentioned it, just tossed it in the trash. Guess I will be ordering some new "Professional Plastic" bumper mounts.

New product idea. I would love to see you combine the various offset bumper mounts with a servo winch mount. As it now stands, I either run the Zero-V Zero-H bumper mount or a servo winch with stock bumper location. I have a use for a 0-V 0-H bumper/servo winch mount. Just sayin!

Well, today I was on my rock pile and caught the rear bumper coming down off a rock and this happended. This is supposed to be the Shapeways professional plastic so I'm a little disappointed. I have almost come to the conclusion that 3D printing is not high enough quality to use in structural parts. I would really like to find a Zero-V Zero-H bumper mount in aluminum but I doubt there is enough demand to make it cost effective to make.
