Well the body I had in mind turned out to be a little small.Ironicly the losi Micro body fit the doner pretty well. So I'm on the lookout for the right body that catches my eye. Here's a couple of pics.

Time to go drive it,then tear it apart and "build on" .

Here's a little comparison shot for you all. 2.2,1.9,and Micro all ready for action.

I'm going to shop for hardbodies today(don't tell my wife) I'd like to find a Toyota truck,Unimog,or maybe a military truck body for it.

we must think alike!!! i just did the same thing last night!...i did swap the springs off of the non rc car (cant remember the name of them) onto the losi, they are a lil larger diam. but softer & a lil shorter, dropped the ride height & flexes better

That's funny Fordwheeler,I don't remember the name of those little rigs either.
If anyone out there knows the name of those remind us please.

So here's the differance between the springs on the 2 rigs.I also swapped the springs on to my Micro like Fordwheeler and I like them way better than the stockers.

And the ride height after mounting all 4 new springs and putting the battery on the servo.

I just ran a battery pack thru and these springs work.More flexable and smooth than the stockers.

They're known as the Xtreme Rock Crawler by ToyZone. I still have a few of them from a few years back.

Stock ride height is just under 1.5" at the skid.

Are the springs much better? (little softer, perfect softness, too soft?)
Being shorter, does it leave an unsprung gap with them at full droop?

They are made by toy zone inc. Haven't seen these around for a few years, I got my son like three of them on clearance so they may be discontinued by now. Either way one just became a doner for mods.

they work alot better than the stock spgs...I'll say much softer

there is a bit of unsprung gap at full droop, to cure this I used a spray tube from a can of WD40 & cut 4pcs at 2mm long to use as internal limiters...fit perfect over the shock shaft & inside the shock body.
