Default RootBreaker's Micro Raptor V8e

Ok she is done... tore the ford apart tonight and got this thing together..
have some tuning to do .. shocks are way too stiff and no real give... springs are too tight

Motor - Danally 90t Stroker Kit
Spur - 56t Aluminum

I remember reading something bout the bic test... well shocks are stiff and it doesnt pass the test..
however I also remember in the 1/10 section that perfect flex is 1 tire height.. i can fit a spare bogger and flex on it.. so that is good

rear flexes a bit better....

now im going to try and put together the blue frame but that is next week..
going to fix the shocks and get them working a bit better and make this thing sit a bit lower... then play and have some fun...

You can remove o rings from the shock body to get the air moving a bit easier. IMO those shocks are designed to use air as a buffer or air-assist to the spring. If you take out some of the o rings the movement is more free.
Decase the ESC and move it to the rear and throw that battery up front. Keep the weight off the chassis.
Looks killer!

Here's what I did with that chassis, suspension wise, (a HUGE improvment), and now I'm turning it into a mini Wraith with a brazed brass chassis

yeah it will get built.. but sport season started.. grrrr ...

my oldest has soccer practice monday and wed... i am meeting my team (coach soccer for 6-7 yr olds)... on tuesday.. so looks like im not gonna start till at least thursday...

i am going to decase the esc on this one and try to move it to the roof or something and get battery up front....

i have a new in pack esc so will use that one.... motor on this one is soldered straight to esc so going to put plugs on it so i can pull it apart...

got the esc de-cased.. and there was a piece of plastic in the parts bin from my purchase that will be used as a roof.. and it will have the esc mounted to it. i velcro'd it for now but not sure i like that... then there is a piece of plastic in the shape of an L that may get used instead... got some tinkering to do....

took the HR shock apart and couldnt figure out the o-ring.. and i dont have inner springs and need to figure out which spring is softer to use.. may just try and buy a new set.. dont know yet... more to come...

so here is a not so much done shot...
esc is off.. thought i was going to use this mount but i have a different one.. full roof plastic.. will hide it better.. just need to figure out a balloon or something to hide it in.. black of course...

now to figure out how to mount a battery up front...

Miclaws and Danally offset rims added. Also HR shocks off and stockers on.
Also checkout the Fungi Custom Beadlock Rings... not the best shot but figured I would show it somewhat now.
Better beadlock ring shots later when I get all my rims back from Danally... as I have 3 sets of custom beadlock rings!

Looks great but in my opinion it needs to have a longer wheel base. It looks as wide as it is long!

Thats what she said!!

yeah my next item on the list is new links. The factory Losi aluminum links are being used right now...

I am going to stretch it a bit.. i did ask elsewhere for a good wheelbase and someone said theirs was 5or so inches.. and when i asked you for more front or back you mentioned too... but on my list is new all thread to make custom links!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh and that is because you have ALL of the stuff I need to make the other 4 run!!!! parts out tomorrow in the mail too!!!

ok so looking for recommendations..

so total length from outer back miclaw to front is 6.1"
from center rim to center rim is 4"
width from outer of tires is 4.7"

so theoretically you are correct.. my WB is less than my width.. what do you recommend as a good tought length?

I like the rigs set at a 5 1/2" wheel base or more when using the Miclaws. That is center to center...I like to just measure from the front of a rear rim to the front of the front rim. That way I don't guess on the center.
